It is not the 'traditional' kind of tempera, but the kind usually sold as 'poster paint' or something... it is called tempera, and a lot of places and art catalogs sell it.They usually have a line of really basic colors, like red, blue, yellow, black, blue, no real 'color' names like cadmium red or ultramarine blue, you know? I bought some, but am unsure how to go about using it...I know this sounds weird. Is it like acrylic, or watercolor or what? Has anyone had any experience with it in a real art type setting? (Not making posters or letting the kids paint with it? ) LOL!!! Does it make brushes hard if left in them? Not that I would do that I am just wondering... Lightfastness? What kinds of paper or surface should I use? Anything on this would be appreciated. I have a million questions about this but I can't think of them all LOL!!! ANything you know, please let me know. Thanks!!! SD :)

I'm looking for where this quote came from "Give me control of the popular culture, and I will control the masses"

I'm sure I'm not exact on this quote since I'm unsure if it is the masses or the future.

Homosexuality was called "sodomy" under old British law, and the author of "The Importance Of Being Earnest" served a sentence in the terrible jail (or "gaol") at Reading, upon being convicted of illegal acts during a liaison with an attractive young man.

The popular playwright and poet was deeply moved upon witnessing a man being executed for slaying the woman he loved, as he was himself a fellow convict in a case centering around love. Straights, of course, were then as now unlikely to reciprocate with compassion for the plight of a gay man.

"For all men kill the thing they love...by all let this be heard!...Some men do it with a smile,...Some with a flattering word. The coward does it with a kiss, ...The brave man with a sword." Earnest and immortal words by the author of the satirical play, "The Importance of Being Earnest".

What act do you get so involved in that you "disappear?"

It's as if YOU are no longer there and just the act of creating or whatever it is your doing takes on a life of it's own. The creating/creation moves thru you and you really are just a vessel. No thoughts. The dancer becomes the dance so to speak.

And by the way, I'm not telling what I think yet cause i dont want any biased answers. I'll tell you my opinion later.

I have some ideas for a book. Do I just start writing, or is there a "getting started" process. I have seen books on writing books, but they seem like more of a gimmic than anything.

I am writing a semi autobiographical novel but my agent says it has so many chapters about men with their trousers down, it should be a farce. A farce is comical- Do you laugh at men with their trousers down?

When Pi was on the boat, before he got to the island with the meerkats, what was the whole thing about the Frenchman? Was that really just his imagination playing tricks on him, like what he thought Richard Parker might be saying if he had a voice, or was it actually a person there? I'm a little bit confused about that whole section of the book, and if it's supposed to symbolize something or not.

We have now discovered that the beginning of the universe came with the Big Bang... a single, compressed ball of matter that exploded and expanded, eventually becoming the universe that we know today.
But what about before the big bang? Where did that ball of matter come from?
And when the universe ends, if it ever does, will time continue to move forward? Can there be time when there's no matter? Without movement or change, does the concept of time flow exist?

What do you think... is time finite or infinite? Linear or cyclical? Is the past and future 'stored' somewhere or does it cease to exist as the present unfolds?
