Well, I'd like to think he was alive because I really liked him until he got all jerky. But, I think he may be gone for good. But then again JK Rowling has been known to put out twists and turns that we can't possibly guess.

Sirius' death affected me more than Dumbledores' too. There was so much hope with Sirius...And yes..I think he could be alive...only I expected to see him resurface by now. The veil he passed through indicated to me that he just passed on to another realm and still exists. I expect him to come back and save the day when there appears to be no more hope.

I'd like to believe that Sirius isn't dead, and I am hopeful that J.K will bring him back somehow. I haven't really heard for SURE that he is dead. I'll be really sad if he is though, because he was my favorite marauder. Dumbledore is 100% dead, and that came straight from J.K.'s mouth. Oh, and apparently, Snape is not the bad guy. I still hate him though. In fact, I don't give a rat's, well, you know, about him.

If you go to JK Rowlings website. She answers the question of Sirius. She has said that she will not bring characters back once they are dead. Which is very sad indeed. Especially in Dumbledore's case. I cannot quote word for word what she said, so here is the link.... (she also explains the veil)

Yeah, I think he is really dead or else the house and Kreacher wouldn't have gone to Harry. I'm not sure what to think of the veil. I mean, it was in a room in the Dept of Mysteries so it must be something dangerous. I also think that because it seems to have been in a room that a lot of people could sit in that it may have been used for trials and death sentences before Azkaban (sp?) came into play.

I think he passed into another realm parallel to Harry's and in the next book will be able to come back somehow. Dumbledore is dead.

No, he is really dead, if he wasnt, he would have showed up by now. You know how harry & luna could hear the "voices" behind the veil?...well they both could hear them because they had seen death , Harry,
Cedric and Luna, her mom, so its sorda the "veil of death" if you wanna call it that!....i didnt want sirius to die either, i really loved him as character!

I hope so, but I think it's unlikely. It's more plausable that they contact each other through the mirror. Although, Harry trying to find him in the veil would've made a great story.
