The soul is the energy of the Supreme Lord. The Lord's energy can be broadly divided into three: spiritual energy which manifests the spiritual world; material energy which manifests the cosmos and marginal energy which is the living beings. We are called marginal energy because we can choose to live in the material world and be covered by illusion and undergo repeated births and deaths in material bodies or we can choose to live in the spiritual energy, the transcendental sphere. But we are spiritual in nature, the same in quality as the Lord Himself.

No, there is no exhaustion of the spiritual energy, the soul. This is the definition of spiritual. There is no limit to spiritual energy. Because we are conditioned to think materially, we try to put spirit in the same box with matter. We cannot conceive of the nature of the spiritual energy with our materially conditioned mind and intellect. The nature of spirit is eternal, unbounded bliss and perfect knowledge. This is our nature, but we are now in illusion thinking we are this temporary body and mind. In this illusion there is no possibility of understanding God, the soul or our relationship with God.

The science of understanding our eternal nature is called self-realization. This is the beginning step in spiritual realization. When we understand our spiritual identity then we must act in that consciousness. This is called bhakti, or the transcendental loving service of the Lord. When a person has become completely purified of all illusion, sinful reactions, and is completely engaged in the devotional service of the Lord, the Lord then reveals Himself to the devotee. At that time the devotee has direct association with the Supreme Personality of Godhead, the Absolute Truth. This is the perfection of life.

Probably, there is really no such thing as spirit, such as souls. We people move and think not because we have souls but because we have brains. It is impossible to think that there could be a producer of souls. The same idea with yours is the idea of reincarnation. Reincarnation states that a soul will be reincarnated sometime in the next generation and is given a new body. BUT, logically speaking, based on statistics, the total world population is gradually increasing. If each person has soul, then that means the souls' population is also increasing, but it's impossible that there could be producer of souls, so, better conclude that there is really no such thing as soul.
