i have a couple photographs of my grandmother that were taken at gimbel's department store in nyc quite a long time ago... the photos are not in the best of shape these days.

at the bottom of the photos there are identification numbers for the negatives. and on the backs of the photos it says that the negatives were kept on file at gimbel's.

is there any way to find those negatives now that gimbel's does not exist? or are they gone forever...

I self published a small book through Brandylane Publishers
I spent a considerable amt. of money. People who read it say they
like it and it would make a good movie. I don't know who to send it to. Sorry my first question wasn't clear. I sold a few copies but it was overpriced and ended up giving copies away. People say it still was a good book. It is a true story about child abuse, demon possesion, bible prophercy, could rival "THE EXOCIRSM OF EMILY ROSE" I hate for it to set on the shelf and gather dust. HELP SOMEONE!

I know the market is brutal, especially for the "un's" unknown, unpublished authors. I know that my novel (mystery/legal/medical fiction) is good & that if given the opportunity it will sell. It is about corrupt polotics , murder and the unorthodox relationships between doctors&Lawyers/Judges/Politicians. The material is fresh, it is ripe b/c of the upcoming Louisiana elections. The nation is focused on La., b/c of hurricane Katrina & the improper, poor way that the Govt responded. I am a Lawyer by day, but have a passion for writing. I write everyday. THIS IS THE FIRST MANUSCRIPT I HAVE WRITTEN THAT I KNOW IS AWESOME & WILL SELL, IT WILL CAPTIVATE READERS AND KEEP THEIR ATTENTION. I need advice on how to get published. Is it literaly impossible to go the major publishing house route? Is self publishing akin to suicide. This book will keep readers up all night , you will not put it down. Please advise , HOW & WHERE DO I BEGIN TO MARKET MY BOOK, GET A LITERARY AGENT, EDITOR, ETC.

Although we can say that money is the means so we can get what we need, why do humans still seek for it even though he has other ways of getting his needs? Or, is it just that, we humans cannot live anymore without money? Or, there are really no other means of getting what we humans really need?

I'm looking for people out there who are either a stage director or stage manager as a living. It's something I'm seriously looking to going into-and I want to know all the information you can possibly give me about doing it for a career. I've been stage-managing at my high school for the past year, and am going to continue the next two years-but I need to know if it's really something worth pursuing.

Just the right amount of nicotine to exhale you out of my mind

Memories enscribed on swirling smoke

Ashes float down in to the cup of once clean water

Grey burnt specks floating on top but never going deeper until the water is disrupted

Black Breath in white breath out

Cigarette paper burns back exposing bare anger

Just the right amount of nicotine to exhale you out of my mind

Will it change anything?

I have to choose a book for summer reading (I know, kind of late) but I can't really read a book unless it's really good and I like it. Last year I read 'Rebecca' by du Maurier and couldn't put it down, so I got my assignment done very quickly. This year I have to choose from:

My Antonia by/ Willa Cather
Living/ Annie Dillard
A Farewell to Arms/ Ernest Hemingway
Their Eyes Were Watching God/ Zora Hurston
Babbit or Main Street/ Sinclair Lewis
Natural/ Bernard Malamud
Heart is a Lonely Hunter/ Carson McCullers
Moby Dick/ Herman Melville
Catcher in the Rye/ JD Salinger
A Connecticut Yankee..../ Mark Twain
Color Purple/ Alice Walker

Thanks for the input, I really appreciate it!

There are gupurams in all temples where kalasa is installed. It is elevated above the temple and is viewable from a certain distance. As it is high when the sunlight touches it produces shadow as any other material. But the gopuram in Thanjavur Temple does not have shadow when the sun touches it despite its height. How is this possible?

there are so many rape cases and molestation against women. most women face all these difficulties at an early age, dealing with the terror and trauma at an early age... now, it is so obvious that most women who fall victim to all these abuse are pretty... is it a crime for a woman to be pretty? do they deserve to be treated badly and without respect because of their good looks?
