Hi again, I want to buy a wall map of United States to put in my living room. I am new here (entered USA about 4 months ago) and I wish to learn more about my adoptive country. Also, if you can, please tell me what good history books I should buy or read. (nn : I have membership with New York Public Library). Thank you.

...in response to a scientific question, do you actually read, or do you skip over it?

I tend to skip them because they have no explanatory power, since both the explanation and justification are by fiat.

If I am terribly wrong, and there is a convincing methodology to "Christian science" or what have you, do tell.

Is ther any Do's and Don'ts for God ... any Laws binding It..? Such as It should not be present in stones or idols ... It should fight with Satan ... It should obey certain laws ... It can not take human form ... called Avatars ... and more over who are we to judge God should be like that, not like this ...who are we to judge what's what and what's what not..? Is ther any restriction put upon God not to change any laws ... Amendment to Constitution .... is it something God can not do ... ? What are those acts which God is restricted to do... ? Is it a Limited Thing capable of doing a few things and not capable of doing a few other things ...? God decides on Its action or certain laws decide Its action ... ?

I found _Tristram Shandy_ collecting dust in the corner. It was one of those books which I just could not get past the first few pages. With all due respect to Sterne, I never want to deal with that book ever again. Apart from _Tristram_, are there any books out there that you absolutely couldn't finish? Just curious!

Assuming karma/reincarnation are real, how would I have to live to avoid reincarnating? Skipping grades, so to speak. How can I grow beyond this mortal coil...this mortal toil?

My daddy was named Griffin. The boys on the Merchant ships in the U.S.Merchant Marine in World War II named him roy
because of the way he sang an old roy acuff song

He and several shipmates went on a 17 month round the world journey in World War II.

The captain wrote the story up in installments in True magazine.

He called the story "Around The World The Hard Way."

Anyone who knew daddy or was on that trip please
contact me.

i don't remember the captain's name or the shi['s name.

daddy's home port was new orleans.

There are some things in life that are a mystery. For example:
there was a rich man with a huge ego because he was very
successful. He took out his yaught one day, by himself out to sea.
Somehow, he accidently fell overboard. He thought his boat
would just keep circling, but it kept on going, farther out to sea.
He floated for many hours. He was in his late 50's. So, this was a
challenge indeed. While he floated, he wondered whether he
would drown. He didn't believe in God. But then suddenly he
remembered an old childhood song he sang in church as a boy.
He started singing it. And started to pray for the first time in many
years. He realized how arrogant he'd become. And how big he
let his ego get. He had a brother whom he hadn't talked to for 2
yrs. While he was trying to survive, his boat had landed on the
shore. He had some friends who saw his boat and that he wasn't
in it. They knew something was wrong. So they called his brother.
