If you are musically talented and willing to spend the time--and it sounds like you should be--you should be able to learn quite a bit. You may not quite be the artiste you would like to be, but you should be able to bang out a song or two.
If you already read music you have a leg up. Many kids take up band instruments for the first time in high school, and it is possible. But it is easier if you start younger.
If you really want to learn the sooner you start the better.

I've been working with the course for about a week now, and it's incredible. Just the practice aids and the different scales and memory techniques in Book 9 are worth the price of the course, alone! There are two things that make this course stand out. First, all the video and audio files are embedded in the lesson. I have yet to find another piano course that makes it this easy. It's so nice not to have three files going at the same time!
The second thing is that you actually get to play in each lesson! And the songs are not "Mary had a Little Lamb" types! From the Beatles to Bethoven, it's all there. I have several piano courses that I have ordered over the internet. This is the one I use because it makes learning fun! I'm amazed! Once you get the rhythms down, you really can sound like a pro! Great fun! Thanks for making this available at such a reasonable price. Anyone who doesn't grab this up is going to go the long way home! Joy!
Now ANYONE Can Learn Piano or Keyboard?

You don't. Fundamental requirement before you sign up. Just like the requirement to have a personal computer as a freshman in college, you can't do the work without the tool. Some have arranged to use the piano of a neighbor, or an institution such as a school or church, synagogue, etc. You have to be Very Disciplined, especially as a beginner, to keep that daily appointment and go to that piano, or again, you are pretty much wasting your time (and the teacher's time) Other than teaching yourself a little about how to read notes, and fundamentally learn the keyboard, no matter what you see said on Y/A, or hear, you really can't learn to play the piano well without a teacher. Best regards.

If you are playing piano as a hobby and don't want to spend hours practising to sit for exams, I suggest you take up the Play By Ear method. This method teaches you to be flexible and you only just have to follow the book's treble notes but for the base notes, you don't have to follow note for note in the book but use your own. I learned to play the piano in 20 lessons. It's easy to learn the treble notes. The Play By Ear method makes your pieces sound more professional. The only thing is....it's much easier to play if you already know the melody or the song that you're going to play. As long as you have the interest and are willing to practise, there should be no problem. Also, you must have a piano. If you want something that you can carry with you to play, learn the violin or the guitar.

It isn't too late to learn at all. That's for sure.
The thing about learning piano, though, is you have to really want to learn to play and be ready to practice; because it isn't something anyone who is just looking for any hobby or any extracurricular activity because it sounds good will be able to stick with.
Beginning to learn piano is a giant bore, and you have to be willing to go through all the beginning and boring stuff in order to get to where you feel as if you can play. I think, though, that the older you are when you start the less time you may have to spend in a lot of the beginning stuff.
Anyway, go for it if you don't mind putting up with some boring practice. (Without being willing to practice you won't get far into it because its practice that gets your hands used to where the keys/chords are .)

Do it. Piano is very easy to learn. You need to learn to read music...that is the most important part.
I used to write the notes right on the bars of music so it made it easier to follow.
e.g. there are only 7 notes...they are ABCDEFG and then they repeat. But there are two scales treble (right hand) and bass (left hand)...the notes are different on each but you will get the hang of it and that's why I would just write the notes (ABCDEFG) in so my fingers could follow along easier and I wouldn't have to remember the notes...believe me you will catch on really quick and you will like it.
Once you can read music you can play any instrument. I found violin the easiest of all to play. Good luck and have fun and remember, you can even take lessons online for free so start now.
My son is 11 years old and has taught himself to play guitar in under a year...by using some software on the computer...he is one brilliant little kid let me tell you but he plays well enough that he has been asked to play for friends at weddings, etc. Less than a year!! So you can do it...don't listen to others...do what you want to do and music is something you will never regret learning I can guarantee it.

I play the piano, and I'm an artist, also. I love them both! It's never too late to learn something new, and if you feel drawn to learn, then do it! If you don't give it a try, you'll always wish you did. It's great fun.

It is never too late to learn something that interests you. I've heard it said that any sport helps another. Maybe the arts are the same way, and piano will help you reach new creative ideas in your drawing and such.
