Why do humans act as if nothing can kill them. We are just a big meatballs walking around, here on Earth. We can be ended with the exact things that we make.

Which of these forces in us is dominant? Does feeling give way to thought, or is it the other way around? Kindly give a rationale for your response.

I was reading Eckardt Tolle and thought this might be a good question for anyone familiar with him or Buddhism in general.

I read a book as a child and I can't remember the author or the title. It was about a boy who had to fight demons and he had elemental powers. He was aided by a warrior who had a demon shaped as a sword to help him. I think it was a series of books. I want to give the books to my son to read now but can't think of them.

I'm trying to find the name of the painting as well as who the artist is. The young lady's clothing is reminiscent of the dresses worn by women in the early 1900s, and it's a dark color-- I think it's black, but it could be a dark green or a dark blue. Her chin is down, but she appears to be deep in thought, and she's holding a book in her hands. I saw a picture of the painting once in a National Geographic, but I'm afraid I can't remember what issue or anything else about the painting.

Thanks for your help in advance!

I wrote this when I was 14 or 15 (Use your imagination). I'm just curious to know what people think it means, or what it means to them. Please no rude or stupid comments, I'd rather you not waste my time.

This flower is laid to rest
Slowly losing petals
Worn, torn, dry, and crumb
Trampled by a bear
This rock is chipping too

I seem to recall that during the 1988 U.S. Presidential campaign that Vice-President Bush gave a speech before a group of veterans referring to the day as Pearl Harbor Day. The thing though was that it was on a September 7th, not December 7, which is when the attack occurred. When pointed out about this, he deftly changed his story to say that he meant that it was Pearl BAILEY Day instead.

With all of Senator Quayle's gaffes during that campaign, I would guess that this was minor in comparison. However, I can't seem to find any trace of the story on-line. I'm just wondering if it actually happened or if I somehow imagined it.

Thanks in advance.

I keep counting 8 but I have to do a homework assignment where I need to talk about "the seven deadly sins." Lust, gluttony, avarice, anger, heresy, violence, fraud and treachery are the ones that I find, are those the sins or am I wrong? To be honest with you I'm completely confused with this book.
