I'm trying to find the name of the painting as well as who the artist is. The young lady's clothing is reminiscent of the dresses worn by women in the early 1900s, and it's a dark color-- I think it's black, but it could be a dark green or a dark blue. Her chin is down, but she appears to be deep in thought, and she's holding a book in her hands. I saw a picture of the painting once in a National Geographic, but I'm afraid I can't remember what issue or anything else about the painting.

Thanks for your help in advance!

The painting Madame Monet resembles the painting I'm trying to find, but it is not it. The young lady in the picture I'm looking for has her back facing the right side of the frame, and I think the background is just a plain wall. I seem to remember it as beigish in color, but I may be wrong. The hairstyle and outfit in the painting Madame Monet are almost exactly like that of the young lady in the picture I'm looking for, so perhaps there's another painting with the same subject?

It's not by any of the painters suggested so far (at least, from what I've been able to gather by extensive Google searching.)

It might be Meditation:Madame Monet on a Couch, by Claude Monet.

Is the book red? Is the lady hair color black?

If so, it is the name i mentioned, and it's on the cover of Jane Eyre, in the Barnes and Noble Classics.

i come across the Mortal gadgets sequence magnificent. i'd truthfully advise it, there are 5 books at the instant released and a 6th one on the way as nicely as a action picture. It includes a number of religious mythology too that i come across exceptionally interesting even although i'm no longer religious myself.
