When I was younger my parents bought me a scifi compilation and all i remember is that one of the stories involved a lady that had to dance on thin wires to coax some sort of alien to do something. and she finally did it by usin all her pent up emotions and poured them into the dance. I also seem to recall that Isaac Asimov had something to do with the compilation book, but i don't rmember what. Unfortunately this book was lost long ago and i;m tryin to retrack it down cuz i loved it so.

Like instead of just shading your drawing with an ebony pencil, what method do you use to color a picture and make it look "life-like"?

Does anyone know any good books with shape-shifters in them? I especially like werewolves and cat people. Any genre is okay. I've read Sherriyln Kenyon and Christine Feehan and know a couple of odd ball others, but am having trouble finding more. Thanks!

OK since so many people enjoyed reading the other poem I put up, here is a totally different one that I wrote! And YES these are truly 100% my work, btw. This one is free verse, and was written last winter when my sweetie and I were broken up for a while.

White Hole

and the thing of it is
I love you
and somehow being free
just means being smaller,
contracting in the cold
in a pale way,
light, whiter, whitest...
'til I am a negation,
walking through windows
and staring through walls
petals pursing curling furling
like the flag of some defeated
army of one, bloodlessly broken,
birch branch bones outlined eerily
through skin of mist and fog.
A portable ghost traveling through time,
I haunt my empty self, doubt
gnawing and nibbling at the fibers
of the shroud of faith I wear
to lend a familiar shape
to my non existence.

When I was in college, I was bemused by hearing kids arguing about "existentialism", etc., and the less comprehensible a statement was, the louder they talked. Kind of like the preacher who, in the notes of a sermon found by the church janitor, had scrawled in the margin at a certain point, "Argument weak; yell like hell!" What's the fuss about, anyway? What's it got to do with the price of tea in China?

Is the human conception of 'Everything' narrowed by understanding, or as a term does 'Everything' really mean 'Everything'? Is an unknown or alternate reality, because of its untangible nature, a part of humanity or beyond Our 'Everything'. Does the religious conception of creation narrow our view of 'Everything'? Philisophicaly, what is 'Everything' and what is not?

So I've heard alot of different theories about what happens after you die. Some people say if you're good you go to heaven, and if you sin you go to hell. But what about the theory of limbo? Thats probably the most depressing one. Or doomed to walk the earth, utterly alone. The thought of death has come to me lately as the end. You die, and your mind dies with your body. Your soul goes nowhere because theres no such thing as a soul. Death isn't another path of life, It's just the end. I for one find this thought comforting, and I don't have to worry about missing people when in the afterlife. Thats just my thought on it. Whats yours?

If Congress passed a law giving "amnesty" to illegal aliens, should there be a provision that refunds all fees paid by legal aliens for Visas, background checks, etc.?

I know that regular glue generally doesn't work, and tape isn't strong enough to hold it. It's a good chunk of pages that are coming out in one big section. Is there a special type of glue for book bindings? Is there anything else I can use?
