Philosophers and English teachers alike make a distinction between these words, because they have different meanings. Existence is a general state of being. Essence is a specific and important feature of a thing or idea. Existentialism is a branch of philosophy that, funny enough, ponders the Essence of Existence (or the meaning of life). As for how the raising of voices in fervent debate might affect the overall price of tea and furthermore the chinese economy, the world moves around the sun draped in mystery. If a butterfly flaps it's wings in Greenland, then nobody was there when the tree fell in the woods.

I wish I could find the quote... but someone once said something like this "Philosophy is an attempt by the common man to seem less common." In any case, the fact is, a large amount of people who study philosophy, do it for the wrong reasons, or simply don't really understand any of it, even if they are honestly trying to.
As far as existence and essence, I'm not sure what you're referring to, as the two are not normally referred to in the same context?

Essence is what makes given thing what it is. Essence includes all the charasteristics that make eg table a table: if only one of them was missing it wouldn't be a table. For example: table has to have a color (it is its essential charasteristic), but at the same time it does not matter (for the essence) what color it is (the table is the table no matter the color). Existence of this table cannot be included in its essence, because existing and non-existing (eg dreamed about) table have to have te same essence (so both are tables).
Existentialism that you've mentioned says: humans have no essence, which is supposed to mean: you are free, you can become and do whatever you want, it is all up to your decision making.

regrettably, maximum folk do not do not ignore that, functionally, there is not any distinction. the complication-free time period, emotion, many times is seen as something diverse from the technical time period, impact. Even specialists, mutually with Ekman and Tompkins have made unnecessary differences, complicating the image. Emotion, or impact, is someone's' lively (non-verbal) reaction ( or "interpreting") of the interaction with their environment. Emotion provides us assistance about, and the potential to finish actual projects, proper to the circumstances (mutually with survival). with the aid of the indisputable fact that's non-verbal, that's seen to be lower than the breaking point of unsleeping expertise, for this reason the note "subconscious" used for this adventure/feeling. Tompkins did have one element superb: impact is conventional. because it develops earlier unsleeping, verbal-depending cognition, it has a much better impression over habit than questioning. maximum politicians and promotion pros can attest to this. even if, this lively enter isn't a command, that's in basic terms a achievable. because body impacts concepts and concepts impacts body, we are able to rekindle memories that would keep in mind emotional responses. The starting place is from environmental interactions, not from questioning. yet we are able to call up certain emotions without interaction interior the on the spot. We in simple terms draw on adventure. inspite of the actuality that oversimplified, W.B. Cannon become accurate.

The price of tea China? I do not know the answer to that. But the question of our existence has been pondered before Chinese even began drinking tea. These question are important not because they have objective answers, but I believe because they define our perceptions of who we are, and where we come from...
As for essence I define this as the quality of something apart from its being. Whereas being is existing. =)

The status of our world, reality, what have you, is far more important than some stupid fact about the global market.
If you don't think so, you'll just be a slave to the most prevailing ideologies. Your "knowledge" and mundane worries: kitch, quaint, irrelevant.

I suppose "existence" may have to do with the physical entity while the "essence" has to do with the intangible, the "soul".
