I think a certain amount of fear would refine love. If you've never experienced fear, then you can't love with all your heart because you wouldn't know what the person you're loving has gone through. But if you have too much fear inside yourself, then perfect love can never really be accomplished because you'd be afraid to love.

However, perfect love isn't for us humans to give, because we're all faulty. We can't produce any perfection. The only one who can give perfect love is God.

I don't know, but fear imbued me with a trembling all thru my body. Gosh, when I watched the movie "The Thing That Ate the World" I think my soul crawled into the darkness with my subconcious and closed its eyes and stuck its fingers in its ears.

I know Bubba imbued me with a black eye when he caught me behind the barn with his girl.

Daddy imbued the revenoorer with the back of a shovel when the skunk came upon my daddy's still up yonder.

What does imbue mean, anyway?

Sometimes even in what are thought of as the most horrible or dirty things in life there is purity and therefore they are beautiful in their own ways. If the fear is absolute fear, it is in this sense beautiful and pure in its "fearness," which could, in some respect "imbue the soul with perfect love..." so to speak.
