Germany sufffered massive financial and territorial losses due to the Treaty of Versailles in 1919, my question is:

How was Germany able to overcome that and be so deadly and powerful that enabled the Nazis to conquer almost all of Europe?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Treaty_of_Versailles

The terms of the Treaty, which Germany had no choice but to accept, were announced on May 7, 1919. Germany lost:

13% of its national territory
All of its overseas colonies (including Kamerun, German East Africa, German Southwest Africa, Togoland and German New Guinea)
12.5% of its population
16% of its coalfields, and half its iron and steel industry.
Union with Austria (Anschluss) forbidden.

Military Restrictions on Germany
The Rhineland to be a demilitarized zone.
The German armed forces cannot number more than 100,000 troops and no conscription.
Enlisted men to be retained for at least 12 years; officers to be retained for at least 25 years.
Manufacturing of weapons

The landlord looked at the house once we had our stuff out and the carpet was dirty and had a couple pulls in it from the dogs and had us post date a check to her for $500 to replace the carpet. Is this legal? She knew we had the dogs so she should have charged a pet deposit when we moved in or a higher security deposit. We had to put down a $625 security deposit and $200 pet deposit for our new place, that's why you put it down before you move in right? It's like now she's trying to get us to pay back deposit or something because she made the mistake of not making us put the money down when we signed the lease. She uses the excuse that she had just had surgery right before we moved in and wasn't herself because she was on pain meds and she would have never let those big dogs in that house. I'm ready to put a stop payment on the check, but want to make sure she's not right before I do so.

Two blondes decided to rob a bank together. The first blonde, Judy plans the robbery and goes over the plan with the second blonde, Buffie, in great detail.
The robbery begins.

Judy drives up in front of the bank, stops the car and says to Buffie, "I want to make absolutely sure you understand the plan. You are supposed to be in and out of the bank in no more than three minutes with the cash. Do you understand the plan?"

"Perfectly," said Buffie.

Buffie goes in the bank while Judy waits in the getaway car.

One minute passes . . .
Two minutes pass . . .
Seven minutes pass . . . and Judy is really stressing out.

Finally, the bank doors burst open! And here comes Buffie. She's got a safe wrapped up in rope and is dragging it to the car. About the time she gets the safe in the trunk of the car, the bank doors burst open again with the security guard coming out.

The guard's pants and underwear are down around his ankles while he is firing his weapon. As the gals are getting away, Judy says "You are such a blonde! I thought you understood the plan!"

Buffie said, "I did . . . I did exactly what you said!"

"No, you idiot," said Judy. "I said tie up the GUARD and blow the SAFE!"

I currently have a water heater that has a dual capability to heat the house. Here is what is happening...

I set the thermostat to around 120, but it doesnt stay at 120. by the end of the day the water is around 140-150 and it causes the t&p valve to let go of a few gallons of water into my garage.
if i set the thermostat to the lowest setting, when i wake up the water is about 80 degrees but gradually goes to about 140 again by 6pm and the same thing happens with the t&p valve.

I replaced the electric thermostat but it still has the same problem. It is a bradford white with a single electric thermostat opening on the bottom, but uses gas to heat the water and send hot water through the air exchange to heat the house.. is there anything else I can check.. anyone.??? I called a local plumber but they had no idea of that kind of tank. go figure.

I'm curious about how you react to scientific articles such as these: http://news.yahoo.com/s/livescience/20071226/sc_livescience/modernbeetlespredatedinosaurs

Do you just ignore it, or shake your heads in disbelief and disgust about how absurd it all is?

Are the scientists who believe that evolutionary forces took place over hundreds of millions, and even billions of years, all delusional? Are they doing the "devil's work?" Are those who listen to and accept what evolutionary scientists say just being duped? Are the scientists and their followers going to hell because of it?

Using blue painter's tape would take about 24 rolls to tape both sides of the 2 in lines. Since it's for a school, we really can't afford that much tape. Does anyone have any tool suggestions that might work?

A man escapes from prison where he has been for 15 years. He breaks into a house to look for money and guns and finds a young couple in bed.

He orders the guy out of bed and ties him to a chair, while tying the girl to the bed he gets on top of her, kisses her neck, then gets up and goes into the bathroom. While he's in there, the husband tells his wife:

"Listen, this guy's an escaped convict, look at his clothes! He probably spent lots of time in jail and hasn't seen a woman in years. I saw how he kissed your neck." If he wants sex, don't resist, don't complain, do whatever he tells you. Satisfy him no matter how much he nauseates you. This guy is probably very dangerous. If he gets angry, he'll kill us. Be strong, honey. I love you."

To which his wife responds: "He wasn't kissing my neck. He wwas whispering in my ear. He told me he was gay, thought you were cute, and asked me if we had any vaseline. I told him it was in the bathroom. Be strong honey. I love you too!!"

We just bought a new automatic litter box. its really alot better than the old one, but i am still fighting the odors. also, not to be gross, but it leaves behind some "treasures" when it sweeps the box. ours is one that sweeps through the gravel about 10 min after cat has been in it. deposits waste in a little tub at the end. everytime i go in the room with the box i shake some baking soda in it. i had heard about that wheat type litter but i dont think it'll work in this. we have two cats. PLEASE HELP!! i am so emberassed by our little friends sometimes............
