"Today's plethora of beetle species were thought to have blossomed 140 million years ago, during the rise of flowering plants. But the new study of beetle DNA and fossils, published in the Dec. 21 issue of the journal Science, pushes their appearance back to 300 million years ago.
That beats the arrival of dinosaurs by about 70 million years"

Wow, the world's getting older by the minute!
There is a theology called the gap theory which could explain how radiology tests are so off. It is said that there is a laps of time between Gen 1:1 and Gen 1:2 in which the world which God creates in Gen 1:1 was destroyed. It's based on things like the words "was without for and void" being able to be translated "became without form and void," and the order to replenish the earth. How can it be REplenished if it had never been filled at some former time? The argument makes since to me.
Anyway, if it were true then what ever catastrophic event destroyed the world would have changed the radioactive content of anything that existed before hand. This could explain why the results of radiology tests are so exaggerated.

Science ever changes
God is the ever changeless
Pure Science proves God
When it doesn't, it isn't pure science
I just don't get caught up in numbers
No time no space in the expansiveness of God
However time and space constructs do 'exist'
and science works within these linear constructs
Linear constructs exist within the 'framework' of God
not the other way round.
70 million may be huge to us, but then in the expansiveness of God 70 million is like a grain of sand, or even smaller.
And all of our points shared here are hopefully each of us becoming better communicators. Let us find the similarities, the connections rather than the separations. Everything is a mirror here in the 'material' realm. Or at least a piece of mirror reflecting the image of that part of the elephant back to us.
Beetles can predate dinosaurs, this goes along with the creation process
described in Genesis.

Anyone who takes an honest look at the evidence would have no choice other than to accept this fact. Which is why those who have misinterpreted the Bible in a way that contradicts reality refuse to look honestly at the evidence. Hanging onto their own unauthoritative biblical interpretations is more important to them than knowing the truth.

Beetles also make up ¼ of animal species... so beetles being around in one form or another for the last 70 million years doesn't seem so far fetched in the long scheme of things.

Some people find it easier than others to grasp that number. I have no problem with it, but to the unintelligent people that have trouble grasping more advanced thinking, like the religious ones and especially christians, I understand how it must be difficult to understand even simple concepts.
