Because I am posting in this section, I do not want any immature people and/or responses.
People first date and ask others out because they like them. Eventually, that develops to a sense of caring. The guy cares a lot about the girl and vice versa. They both will be there for each other. Eventually, this turns into the commitment of marriage.
Now my real question is: in the early and middle stages of a relationship, most people only have a young sense of caring. They can't always be with their partner, but they will try to be there if they can. How is this any different from a close/best friend?
The reason, that I have always held, for desiring a relationship (if I ever get close to getting one) is so that I can hold the girl and let her know that I will always be there for her. Even if her family has forsaken her, she will always have me.
Now that I think about it more, how is this different from a best friend? Yes, I do not treat my good/best friends this way, but is the line really that close?
