what can I do to earn some money while I am at home? Not those surveys you have to pay at first to even start them. Like some sort of work or small business??

You can clean houses, babysit, run errands, help people with their pets. This time of year, you can also offer your services helping people decorate, shop, wrap gifts, and cook for the holidays. A childcare or eldercare angle you might pursue this time of year is to help take care of folks who need to leave someone behind while they do their Christmas shopping.
You can also register with a temp agency to get more people on the lookout for a job for you. Often times temp work leads to something permanent or semi-permanent, such as while someone is on a leave of absence.
You can look into upping your education while you are off work. This is the tail end of the semester so you might be able to get in on the spring semester and start classes in January.
You can also take a job that is temporary in nature, such as in a restaurant, gas station, nursing home, or a store in the mall...until you find what you really want.

Many people these days are making money online with paid surveys. I have found that these paid surveys are especially suitable for students. Since many students are living with a tightpart of their time online already. Paid survey sites place a premium on users between the ages of 13-25 3. How about direct sales you can work you own hours and meet people it is great way to network. Pick something you like that you can benefit from the discount or will make you good money. A consumable prodcut really helps. I think it is important that you love and believe in what you sell. I started my business simple for the discount and found I was able to quit my full time job work part time hour and make the same salary.
