Last year he was in a special needs class as he has a speech delay. However, by October he was showing severe stress signs that he was unable to handle the environment and I took him out. This was a voluntary program and he received speech at a private office after. This year he is in a regular prek class in the school and receives speech at school but he is now crying at night and in the morning saying he does not want to go to school. He is super smart (he can already do simple addition and spelling) and behaves very well at school even receiving a school award for being super in class. He has a sibling in a close room and sees neighbor kids during the day. He tells me the teachers yell but in my experience all teachers probably do at some point especially in the younger ages. My idea is that he is probably not comfortable here as he follows the rules and would rather just learn and play then cause problems and get in trouble which is what I see the other kids doing. takeout??

I'm agnostic, makes no difference to me which way the discussion swings.

If anyone out there could offer any say....
Biblical prophecies that have come true?
Faults in the Bible?
etc.

Basically just any evidence that goes against/for the existence of God and the truth in Christianity.

That'd be great.
Thanks.

The last time we had a decent white christmas was when i was a kid, nowadays when it snows the rain washes it away soon after.

Has it been a while since you had a white christmas, do you think snow makes it feel more like christmas.

I watched Michael Moore's 'Sicko' last night and I have to say I was appalled. I did not realize that the US is the ONLY industrailized nation that does not have universal healthcare. I was shocked to learn the many things that other countries have as a right of citizenship that the US again, does not have. After watching it made me feel almost ashamed to be American; why are we not taking care of our citizens to the fullest extent possible? I was also quite touched when in the movie, they went into Cuba and recieved medical treatment for free. I was also shocked to learn that Cuba offers this when we do not.
So I guess my question is, why is America so against universal healthcare?

I can understand that it often affects children because that is when everyone starts to read. But how can it affect an adolescent or adult? How do they get away in elementary school not knowing how to read? If a person can't read, it would be obvious to the teacher. The teacher would refer them to special education and they are taught in a special way so they can read. So dyslexia wouldn't affect them when they are older. Dyslexia is caused by an unknown factor or factors. So an adolescent or adult is less likely to get dyslexia.

I was hoping that someone here could help me in regards to where to volunteer on Christmas day in Melbourne/Victoria.

My partner and I are looking to give the morning/ lunchtime on Christmas day to help with some type of community Christmas event, such as serving lunch to the homeless.

We tried contacting the salvos but they weren't interested, does anyone know of any charities or places for us to call?

Thanks

This is the story.
My girlfriend & I were together almost 5 years. She left me (claiming she didn't like the way I treated her. I wasn't perfect but no one is. She is also an untreated Bipolar). The first 2 months after she left me she said, there was no one else, that she loved me, that she wanted to know I am serious about us, etc. Then 3 weeks without much contact, she sends me pictures of her and her new partner kissing each other and laying next to each other in bed. Then continues to say she has moved on, is happy, and in love, getting married and moving this person in from the other side of the state. All of this in a month and half time. Now after all the drama, which included her calling the cops on me twice for texting her to get answers....her new partner is sending ME e-mails everyday about things (sending me things to sign up for this bootycall site, to sign up for facebook and to join it and for a game site). First question is; Could you really 'move on and be TRULY

Thankfully my kid is still "yummy cute" but he's already 5 and before I know it he'll lose his teeth and huge ones will grow back in their place and he'll, most likely, start doing something really hideous to his hair.

I think somebody sent me a link to this website, and perhaps I put in my email. Since then, I've received a steady stream of spam. I have clicked the link at the bottom "If you would prefer to not receive future marketing messages from us, click here to unsubscribe" and the spam keeps coming. It comes from a different domain every time - the true hallmark are pure, indisputable spam.

Has anybody else had this experience?

I'm moving away from home in February for university. I'm staying in a hall of residence, which is sort of like a dorm.

I'll be flying up there on my own and then meeting my Mum's friend and she'll be taking me my hall.

The afternoon we arrive there is an afternoon tea for parents and family members.

My Mum can't fly up with me because she's made it very clear she has other things she'd rather be doing.

I'm really scared and I'm sure all the other people will have their parents with them.

My best friend lives up there and I was wondering if it would be appropriate if I took him along as my 'parents and family'?

He already attends the University.

What do you think?

Four friends, who hadn't seen each other in 30 years, reunited at a party. After several drinks, one of the men had to use the rest room.
Those who remained talked about their kids.
The first guy said, "My son is my pride and joy. He started working at a successful company at the bottom of the barrel. He studied Economics and Business Administration and soon began to climb the corporate ladder and now he's the president of the company. He became so rich that he gave his best friend a top of the line Mercedes for his birthday."
The second guy said, "Darn, that's terrific! My son is also my pride and joy. He started working for a big airline company, then went to flight school to become a pilot. Eventually he became a partner in the company, where he owns the majority of its assets. He's so rich that he gave his best friend a brand new jet for his birthday."
The third man said: "Well, that's terrific! My son studied in the best Universities and became an engineer. Then he started his own construction company and is now a multimillionaire. He also gave away something very nice and expensive to his best friend for his birthday: A 30,000 square foot mansion."
The three friends congratulated each other just as the fourth returned from the restroom and asked: "What are all the congratulations for?"
One of the three said: "We were talking about the pride we feel for the Successes of our sons. ...What about your son?"
The fourth man replied: "My son is gay and makes a living dancing as a stripper at a gay night club."
The three friends said: "What a shame...What a disappointment."
The fourth man replied: "No, I'm not ashamed. He's my son and I love him. And he hasn't done too bad either. His birthday was two weeks ago, and he received a beautiful 30,000 square foot mansion, a brand new jet and a top of the line Mercedes from his three boyfriends."
