Nope, I only spend what I know I can afford. I can't see how anyone could justify getting into debt because of one day, that doesn't really even mean anything to them, they couldn't give a monkeys about Jesus and Christianity anymore...its all about getting their 5 year old a PS3, a trampoline, the entire collection of Bratz, and anything else they stomp their feet and demand now.

No-I buy all during the year when I find an item that fits the person and is on sale. I don't go over the top but I do try to make things special for my family this time of year.

No - never have done.
We were brought up in the old school ways - never heard of credit cards. First time I saw one I was in my 20's and someone had an American Express card; he had to explain what it was all about to the rest of us.
Many places wouldn't accept cheques (getting like that again) and you had to make a point of asking if they would; it was cash up front so you learned to budget. No cash = no goods = no debts.

Of course, It's all about the giving not the receiving.....so if you have someone special to spend on, surely it's worth getting into a little debt to show how much they mean to you. OK I'm not talking about buying them a lambourghini or anything but you know just something special. xx

yep. we try to spend as little as possible, like knitting scarves and hats for everyone instead of buying gifts, but still we end up going over our budget on our 2 children. we just want them to have the things they asked for. we don't buy toys for them all year long, but when christmas comes around we try to get what they want. it makes it magical. so yep, we do go over budget a little but we don't regret it at all.

We spend way to much on christmas.
I think next year we are going to have one set budget and that is it.
I know my husband will agree once he sees the bills coming in!
