My young niece is in fourth grade. She is asking for a cell phone but her mother doesnt think she can handle that responsibility. She is right in the transition age where she's wanting older kid things but also still in the toy stage. Her mother & I are struggling to find presents for her that she will like but are also appropriate & easy enough for her to control.

My hair is about 2 inches past my shoulders & it seems like it just will not grow! I noticed that it seems to be breaking off at a certain point. Just at the ends--about 1/4 of an inch. So Ibrush my hair and look down on my shirt and have these little pieces of hair on it. It happens no matter what I do--even with regular trims.

What is causing this & how can i prevent/stop it? Any recommended products? Is it because I use a straightener (I know that doesn't help--but that can't be the only reason!)

I live in Canada and was wondering if anyone could answer this question. A friend of mine is leaving her husband and was wondering if she is liable for half of all his debt. For about a month and now he doesn't want to talk to me anymore and he said this could never happen again because he feels guilty. We have a 10 yr old son together & he still lives with the other woman. He stopped all contact with me once he met her 2 yrs ago. She interfered in anything that had to do with our son...she threatened me said she would take make my ex take my son away from me but now like I said after 2 yrs he initiated the sex and since I still love him I did it and now I feel hurt because he said this will not happen again. What should I do? If he asked to meet with me why do you think he did that? I failed to add, when this first happened he told me that she got pregnant from him 3 weeks after being with her, she argued so much with me telling me that my man is now her man and to leave them alone...

Batteries for cordless tools seem to work well for a while, then soon don't hold a charge well. I have heard there is a way to rejuvenate these so that they perform more like new, but don't know how it is done.

I have read some really ridiculous stuff about breast feeding.
1. you won't bond with your child as well if you don't breast feed.
2. your child won't get enough nutrients if you don't breast feed.
3. pumping doesn't provide the nutrients that breast feeding does.
4. If you meet with a lactation specialist, you will be able to master breast feeding, too!

Some people get so worked up about this that it seems as though it is their religion (or cult). Why can't some of these women accept the fact that women who bottle feed CAN have a perfectly close and wonderful relationship with their babies? Why can't some of them accept that some women cannot breast feed - for whatever their particular PERSONAL reason is? I'm not opposed to breast feeding. In fact, I think it is wonderful. I'm just tired of people getting hysterical over it.
Have any of you run into these rabid women on here? What is your take on this?

My cat I've had for about a year has all of a sudden started hissing, growling, and screaming for no apparent reason. My mom had brought a small, unfamiliar kitten into the house for a couple hours, and the cat is always uncomfortable around kittens, so I thought that may have had something to do with it. But the kitten has been gone for more than a day now!
Besides, we have brought other cats into the house before and she's never reacted like this. She'll just sit in the corner making all these noises at no one/nothing. If you go over and try to pet her, she freaks out even worse. All night long she was waking everyone up with her screaming. I have no idea what's going on. We called the vet and no one has called us back. Unfortunately, we can't really afford to take her in...please help!!
