Going to church is not the end all be all of being a good Christian. It is about your relationship with Christ. If you are in your bible and in prayer, trying to live your life by God's will for you then you are on the right track. That being said, church is a good place to be nurished in the word and to have good fellowship. Finding a church you like is very important, but because you can't does not make you a bad christian. Stay in the word and in constant prayer. Rely on Him! God bless!

Yes. Christ died for the church, and in the church He has set Pastors to teach you, and other Christians to grow with. Christianity is not a lone-ranger religion. We grow through one another. The Bible says we all have gifts given to us by God to use in the service of other believers. You cannot have communion alone, or the very act of communing dissipates. You should go to church, and there are so many churches it is hard to imagine that you cannot find one. Perhaps your expectations are too high for what you expect in a church, but all churches are full of sinners and none will be perfect until heaven. So look around. Look in the phonebook. There may be some churches meeting in schools or other places rather than a traditional church with steeple. Just find one that teaches and believes the Bible, and watch out for cults that use the Bible as a springboard to teach false doctrines (like Jehovah's Witnesses and Mormons).

I go to church frequently. However, one can certainly do Christian devotions and practice Christian charity at home. There's a verse in Scripture about not forsaking the gathering of ourselves together, but if there's not a church in your area that you feel comfortable with, then continue praying and reading Scripture at home. Going to church doesn't necessarily make a person a good Christian. I've met some very good people at church, but I've also met some really rotten ones (people who make a show of piety at church, but then are cruel to their own family members, and everyone else).

I started out the same way. I think reading the bible is more important than going to church, but going to church is a great! I think you should keep looking for a church to go to. I am pleased to know that you are reading, I hope that finish it if you havent and read it 100 fold. I recommend praying about it, put your faith in god not in men.

Yes, usually three times a week.

Going to church doesn't make you a 'good' Christian, but it makes you a better Christian.

Just as iron sharpens iron, Christians sharpen Christians. Going to church helps you better understand the Bible and all that is written in it. Find a church that teaches the Word as soon as you can.

A candle by itself will soon go out.

Going to church doesn't make you a Christian any more than going to McDonald's makes you a hamburger.

I would encourage you to 'shop around' and try to find a good church. God looks on the heart, He knows where you're at, and that's what counts. I think you'd enjoy the fellowship if you could find a church that 'fits' where you're at and what you believe.

Well church is just a place now-a-days it used to be really good to go. Churches now-a-days strive for money, which is why i stopped going to mine. There were going to kick this guy out of church for him not having enough money to send his kids to school. Back then Im sure it was nessesary to go to be a good christian, but now i think its up to you to decide how much you dedicate your life to god. I read the bible and i think that and praying is good enough.
