I know that we can model a Geocentric "solar system" mathematically, with the Sun orbiting the earth and the other planets somehow spiralling round the orbiting Sun.

I imagine though that physics tells us that that cannot be the case, that the model is "innacurate" or impossible as things stand. For if the Sun (and planets) were to orbit the Earth daily, the Earth would have to have one hell of a (mass related) gravitational pull to hold such a massive and fast moving body as the Sun in orbit.

What would that (Earthly) mass be if it could hold the Sun in orbit? What calculations would I (or you) have to use to determine that? (Perhaps skip the last question, as I've seen Wikipedia's Analysis of Orbital Motion and given up right away).

How dense would it be, if it's size remained the same, and what would it be compared to, a Black Hole, collapsed dead star or Red Dwarf or something?

Everything on the Earth's surface would collapse, right, underthe G-force?

I even bet that the Geocentric model couldn't possibly be true, even if we could tamper with the masses of the Sun and planets, because with changed relative masses, the current dynamics would break down entirely. Right?

I thank anyone who can help educate me, so that I can educate others

Q. Did you hear about the blind hooker?
A. You really have to hand it to her!!

A man goes into a restaurant and is seated. All the waitresses are gorgeous. A particularly voluptuous waitress wearing a very short skirt comes to his table and asks, “What would you like, sir?”
He looks at the menu and then scans her beautiful frame top to bottom, then answers, “A quickie.”

The waitress turns and walks away in disgust. After she regains her composure she returns and asks again, “What would you like, sir?” Again the man thoroughly checks her out and again answers, “A quickie, please.”

This time her anger takes over, she reaches over and slaps him across the face with a resounding “SMACK!” and storms away.

A man sitting at the next table leans over and whispers, “Um, Pal, I think it’s pronounced ‘quiche’.”

I have a pretty bad problem of grinding my teeth while I sleep at night. My dentist just made me a mouthguard for it (out of hard plastic that covers the top teeth). After waiting 3 weeks for the guard to arrive (after he made the mold of my teeth) he also spent half an hour with me in the his office making minor adjustments on it so that it would fit exactly right. Unfortunately, now that I've taken it home and tried it, it feels too tight in certain spots, especially the front-right canine tooth.

Will the pressure exerted on my tooth (teeth?) specifically from the mouthguard damage them, or is it supposed to fit very snugly?

Strangely,I had a dream last night while I was wearing it that my tooth kept chipping, but then I woke up and my tooth was fine.

We have found a reception location that we LOVE, only problem is that it can only accommodate 80 people. We have 117 people on the guests list, most of whome are interstate.
Judging by cousins weddings (in my state and inviting the same interstate family) I know about 65 guests will definately come (11 of these are children, does that make a difference?) and 17 definately will not come leaving us with 35 that may go either way.
Do you think that is too many people to invite for the 80 person limit?
How many should I expect to show up out of the 35?
Do reception venues downplay their maximum capacity eg if 5 more than the limit showed up would that usually be ok?

It is a very creative idea if you think about it... Which do you suppose came first, the sandwich or the sliced bread?

I didn't like my job before and I am increasingly beginning to hate it since my old office manager has left. Now the new one has all these problems with me that the old one never had...ugghhh. This is my career I go to college and do this job. I want to be a teacher not a secretary. No one around here understands how hard it is to go to college and work almost everyday.
