We are throwing a very large cocktail party Christmas eve for approx. 40-50 people. I am in need of fantastic h'ordourves suggestions (ONLY things you've tried!) Here is the catch though, I really don't want to have to serve things hot. My kitchen is very large but very open and I don't want to have to cook in front of my guests. I don't mind heating a few things at, but my preference is to have a lot more cold / room temp. It would make it really easy on me if I can premake stuff. Also, I live in S. Florida and although it is warm here, we do drop down at night into the 60's and I want to keep most of my guests eating and snacking out by the pool. If you have something fantastic to share.... please help me out!!

is that still a grave situation in the Catholic Religion.

I know it's o.k. if you just went to confession and H. Communion recently and then die--all right.
But if you haven't gone to conf, or comm. for a long time years even, is it not good for the soul?

You don't give the good answers causing you not to get best answers. You throw out the questions but they are weak and you get no stars or hardly any answers? People make you feel bad because of your nose? Well, welcome to my life.

I live in Canada and same-sex marriages are legal here and Im just curious if any religious persons have a tolerant/accepting attitude towards homosexual despite their religious beliefs.
For example, my parents are Muslim but they reconcile free will and tolerance with what their religion says (i.e. it is a sin). My mother thinks they are cute even lol and she loves how nice and joyful gay people are (the ones she has met). My father too and so they both support same-sex marriage and are accepting of gay people. Heck they voted Liberal to make sure their right wouldn't be threatened.
Im just curious if any other religious people take such views.

There was a question a few minutes ago about how to politely communicate to a coworker disinterest in religious activities, and it got me thinking... just how difficult has it been for the atheists here to publicly admit their atheism? Does the religious climate in your geographical location factor into the level of difficulty (as I suspect it does)?

I'm getting threatened over the internet that'll I'll get beaten up and my face will get smashed ect at school on Monday.

I'm really scared to go to school.
I just don't know what to do with my life.

1st question: My dvd player and onyko surround sound do not have hdmi connections so what wires do I need to buy and what is the proper way to set up through cable box so I get best sound and picture.

2nd: If I buy a receiver with hdmi and a blue ray than I would only need hdmi cables right. Lastly if I buy a receiver with 1.3 hdmi I'll only need one wire running to tv.

I know these are a lot of questions. Still trying to get the hang of this. Let me know if I am way off in thinking this way. Thanks

This is actually an answer to a resolved question. Nobody had the right answer. The British do not have a one day holiday. They have a Church Festival where people bring food to celebrate and thank God for the harvest. In Canada, we still do the same thing - used to be that you had to wrap the food in white tissue paper, but now you can bring it unwrapped. Also, in Canada, we do have a one day holiday but it is in October, so it is our rendition of celebrating the harvest - a throw-back from our English ancestors that we have made our own.

i'm an indo-canadian girl. my dad doesn't like my mom's side of the family. from wut i know, this fight has been going on even before i was born. he accuses my maternal grandpa of selling girls and my mother of being a slut. i don't believe in all this so he gets hurt and drinks alot. sometimes he accuses me of wanting to be a prostitue, only when he's drunk. ilove him to death and he does too. Because he cares about me alot, he is very protective. we used to be real tight when i was young.They have spent over 20 yrs with each other. my mother is the world to me and without her i prolly would have been dead if she hadn't stopped me. i can't move out because my dad would kill me and accuse my mother of my upbringing. also, i'm the only child and i'm a girl which made matters worse when i wuz born cuz girls aren't really good for carrying on their father'sname, boys are preferred. i want to get rid of everyone's problems but my parents won't get a divorce. what should i do?? HELP PLEASE
