i hear a lot of born again Christians saying that they were saved at one special moment that changed their lives. i didn't have this. i prayed to God that He would show me the truth, and he slowly opened my heart up to Jesus Christ. it was a process, i didn't have one defining moment where i was saved. i read the Bible and God showed me its truth over time, and then i accepted Jesus as my savior.

Is there any thing I can say to acknowledge the season and wish you well? I have several JW friends. I love the season and love wishing people well via Merry Christmas, etc. I want to respect them and their beliefs about holidays, so should I just treat like any other day? I know my friends are used to people who don't know better wishing them happy holidays, etc, and they are very politely non reactive. Isn't there anything I could say that would acknowledge this great powerful time of year without offending?

I am doing a small Thanksgiving dinner this year and need a vegetable dish. I wanted to use the crock pot so I have room for my mashed potatoes and gravy on the stove.

I would like some squash and apple recipes if anyone has a good one, but am open to any veggie dishes you have as long as they are vegetarian.

Thanks!!

My mom is a raving socialist and I'm telling her that you can't rob Peter to pay Paul. Yet she still spews venom such as saying that taxing the rich is simply "nudging."

Am I truly nuts for seriously disliking my mother as a person?

I dont know the actual lyrics but its about a little boy who wants to buy his mom red shoes but he doesn't have enought money. Then a stranger that was behind him gave him the money to buy the shoes.

That is what my mom said it was about. And she thinks its also a christmas song. So if anyone knows what the song is called or who sings it then that would be great!!!

I have a HP Pavillion desktop and have had absolutely no problems with it, but i want to get rid of the desktop clutter.
I use the computer primarily for e-mail, playing online games, nothing very graphic things like poker. Have never bought a game but may in the future. I do use a printer a lot. Have never downloaded music or videos. What would you suggest I get ? I have highspeed cable internet and a lot of folders with saved sights so i do need space. Would like to stick to an HP because I have been very happy with it.
