My mom is a raving socialist and I'm telling her that you can't rob Peter to pay Paul. Yet she still spews venom such as saying that taxing the rich is simply "nudging."
Am I truly nuts for seriously disliking my mother as a person?

Easier to leave her to her own little devices and live your own values. Don't become Slave to her thinking. I have a few nuts in my family too thinking sharing everything you have with everybody else just because....they don't have much...I guess not where they became who and what they are by choice...Trust me it's not your fresponsibility.

Yes, you're truly nuts.
We live in a country that allows freedom of expression, differences of viewpoints, and political diversity. Just because your mother disagrees with your own selfish, greedy political perspective doesn't mean you should disrespect her for her views.
She IS your mother, after all; had it not been for her giving birth, you wouldn't even be here to express your own views! Once she's gone, you'll live to regret such petty and insignificant disagreements.

you do not seem violent or greedy or any of the other bile these answerers are spewing. having no respect doesn't mean you don't love her. my mother was the same way. (rest her soul.) i absolutely had no respect for her socialistic views. she was a flaming one-sided feminist too. another way to lose respect from her children (3 boys & 1 girl.)

If you my child and you were 16 or older i would through you out on the street if you did not give me the respect that i deserve.You owe everything to her.She gave you live.If it was not for her you would not exist.You do not have to agree with her, but she still deserves your respect.Just wait till you have kid`s then you will know.
