Depending on your budget you can prepare anything from a inexpensive stir-fry, to a gourmet meal...you don't have to be a cook as long as you have a pot and pan, and can read instructions.

How sweet are you?! If she likes seafood, shrimp scampi is REALLY nice and pretty easy to make.
Shrimp Scampi with Linguine
Vegetable oil
1 tablespoon kosher salt plus 1 1/2 teaspoons
3/4 pound linguine
3 tablespoons unsalted butter
2 1/2 tablespoons good olive oil
1 1/2 tablespoons minced garlic (4 cloves)
1 pound large shrimp (about 16 shrimp), peeled and deveined
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1/3 cup chopped fresh parsley leaves
1/2 lemon, zest grated
1/4 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (2 lemons)
1/4 lemon, thinly sliced in half-rounds
1/8 teaspoon hot red pepper flakes
Drizzle some oil in a large pot of boiling salted water, add 1 tablespoon of salt and the linguine, and cook for 7 to 10 minutes, or according to the directions on the package.
Meanwhile, in another large (12-inch), heavy-bottomed pan, melt the butter and olive oil over medium-low heat. Add the garlic. Saute for 1 minute. Be careful, the garlic burns easily! Add the shrimp, 1 1/2 teaspoons of salt, and the pepper and saute until the shrimp have just turned pink, about 5 minutes, stirring often. Remove from the heat, add the parsley, lemon zest, lemon juice, lemon slices, and red pepper flakes. Toss to combine.
When the pasta is done, drain the cooked linguine and then put it back in the pot. Immediately add the shrimp and sauce, toss well, and serve.
Of course, make sure to have some candles lit and a nice bottle of wine!

this is THE BEST chicken recipe I've ever made, it's pretty easy and even better re-heated the next day (so make extra!) serve it with mashed potatoes or angel hair pasta and a nice fresh salad! yummmm!!!!! she'll think you're a professional chef!
INGREDIENTS
1 (10 ounce) package fresh spinach leaves
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 cup shredded pepperjack cheese
4 cloves garlic, minced
4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves - pounded to 1/2 inch thickness
1 pinch ground black pepper
8 slices bacon
DIRECTIONS
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
Place spinach in a large glass bowl, and heat in the microwave for 3 minutes, stirring every minute or so, or until wilted. Stir in sour cream, pepperjack cheese, and garlic.
Lay the chicken breasts out on a clean surface, and spoon some of the spinach mixture onto each one. Roll up chicken to enclose the spinach, then wrap each chicken breast with two slices of bacon. Secure with toothpicks, and arrange in a shallow baking dish.
Bake uncovered for 35 minutes in the preheated oven, then increase heat to 500 degrees F (260 degrees C), or use the oven's broiler to cook for an additional 5 to 10 minutes to brown the bacon

Don't spend the time cooking, spend the time creating the atmosphere(believe me). Women love a corny romantic man. I've had to plan many romantic dinners for customers-take 1 rose(any color but red)pull petals and put in clear glass bowl with floating candle in center of table with a tablecloth. Use wine glasses(add personal touch like I love you or a heart drawn on them with glass paint) Fix or buy only finger foods-that way you'll be able to reach over and take her hand and look her into the eye. for music try love songs from the 70's or 90's or michael bolton. Also if its warm where you're at do all of this outside-if not try a picnic in the living room. All this doesn't cost much and you'll woo her forever!

First you have to create an atmosphere. At the entrance pour some rose petals ,and keep a low light in the house.Arrange quite a fancy table, with candles and flowers, preferably silverware. Some chill-out music.Chose carefully a wine according to the type of food you are preparing.I suggest something light ,rose or white wine, cooled before served. For the meal pick up a cook book and chose a main course of fish, preferably trout, or something made with beef.Find out what interests her and blab all night about those things.Do not forget to be well dressed and very confy with the situation.

Provided that she doesn't have allergies then forget anything that sounds healthy and think along the lines of creamy brandy or wine sauces on the mains and cream and chocolate on the dessert. Foods that will arouse her taste buds and have her grinning like a Cheshire cat.
Most romantic meal that was ever cooked for me was quail in brandy cream sauce with peppercorns. That was 23yrs ago and I still salivate when I think of it. The meal was so nice that we didn't bother about dessert, we just went straight to the bedroom. Come to think of it...I have no idea what he had in mind for dessert....lol, maybe I should have been a little more patient.

Make her a Chicken Cordon Bleu with a white wine cream sauce over angel hair pasta. Make garlic bread or go buy some. Serve with a garden salad. Make a chocolate turtle cheesecake for dessert and serve candle light style. She will be very impressed. All this should only take you 4 hours, she'll end up marrying you or getting you something very nice for christmas.

Definitely candles and a nice table setting. But don't make the mistake of over doing it with the food. I had an ex boyfriend who tried to impress me with some really fancy food, but stuff that was totally not my taste. Made with red wine and crap, lol, im not so much into that kind of fancy food. Make sure the food is nice but also something your girlfriend likes!! That is key!

Aren't you sweet! How refreshing to hear romance isn't dead! As for ideas, it depends... do you want to get her feeling romantic? Then candlelight and lobster or steak with twice baked potatoes and a salad would be good. Or if you want to get down and dirty how about BBQ ribs and corn on the cob? Then you can clean each others finger tips! Have fun!

My husband made me a romantic Italian dinner once. I think it is the combination of the food and the atmosphere. He made home made lasagna. I knew it took him all day and that made it even more special. He served it with bread and salad. You could make homemade garlic bread and a light salad with vinaigrette. For desert, tiramusu! (spelled wrong!)
