It's worth $5, especially if it's a large group of people. They freak out, like you're desecrating their god or something.

Never tried it with a one; I wanted to go for maximum effect (that I could afford at the time).

Btw, all you legalistic types, this was in the 80s, when I was in college. I know it was illegal (and I don't care; I'm a libertarian), but there's no point reporting me 'cause the statute of limitations has expired.

Charles Darwin himself realized that his theory was not supported by the fossil record, for he wrote in his Origin of Species:

The number of intermediate varieties which have formerly existed on earth must be truly enormous. Why then is not every geological formation and every stratum full of such intermediate links? Geology assuredly does not reveal any such finely graduated organic chain: and this, perhaps, is the most obvious and gravest objection which can be urged against my theory.

C. Darwin, The Origin of Species

When Charles Darwin penned these words, he attributed this absence of transitional forms to what he called the "extreme imperfection" of the fossil record. Since that time, however, literally millions of fossils have been found, but still the transitional forms are absent.

How can you possibly believe in gradual evolution given this evidence?

Intelligent responses appreciated.

My friend just sent me this email. I thought I'd help her out by polling the community:

"Hi Guys,

Listen, I'm doing a paper for my political science class and I need to take a poll ....If you guys could just answer yes or no to the following question, I'd really appreciate it..... It'll help me get a good grade!! Thanks!

Should we be willing to give up some of our basic civil liberties in order to protect ourselves and our country from the threat of terrorism?"

A friend of mine is blind and soon moving into her own flat for the very first time. She has plenty of tools to assist her in her daily tasks, she does NOT need more of those. She is just looking for some creative ideas on decorating her new place.

Framed pictures and color schemes are obviously out!

Any suggestions?

A Russian, an American, and a blonde were talking one day.

The Russian said, "We were the first in space!"

The American said, "We were the first on the moon!"

The blonde said, "So what? We're going to be the first on the sun!"

The Russian and the American looked at each other and shook their heads. "You can't land on the sun, you idiot! You'll burn up!" said the Russian.

The blonde replied, "We're not stupid, you know. We're going at night!"

My daughter is 3 yrs. old and has been very resistant to potty training. I am already thinking of switching to cloth for my 8 month old son. I am wondering if putting her in cloth diapers might help with getting her to come around to using the potty. I have already tried just putting her in panties and clothes. She treats Pull-ups like diapers, and I can't afford them anyway. I can't handle cleaning up 5-8 accidents a day in her clothes and on my carpet anymore. Did that for about 6 months. I understand that she may just not be ready, and I don't want there to be a big power struggle over it. I also know that this is a tough time for her with her baby brother, and that most regressions occur when the baby is about this age. All I want to do at this point is to kindly put her in a position where she might find using the potty a favorable alternative to going in her pants. Would cloth diapers help in this situation?
