You're right, illegal immigrants deserve to be deported; HOWEVER, why should the children suffer? Here's the problem. Let's say José and María from Mexico jump the border and have a kid here, who we will name Jesús. The kid grows up here, goes to American schools, grows up speaking English, and knows nothing but the lifestyle of the US. When Jesús is 10 years old, immigration discovers that José and María were illegal immigrants and decides to deport them. A lot of people might think Jesús doesn't deserve citizenship because his parents were illegals, so therefore he should be deported too. Unfortunately, this is totally unfair. Jesús didn't choose to be born in the US to illegal immigrant parents. All he's ever known is the US and he probably has greater allegiance to the US than he ever will to Mexico, a country he's probably never been to. So is it fair to uproot his life and send him to a country with a lower standard of living just because he had two lawbreaking parents?
