Why do some people go through a period in which everything goes wrong, unlucky all the time, and odds are always working against that person.
I think I am going through that period. I can not help it.
Does it ever end? How long will it last? How to stop it?
Has it ever happened to you? What did it stop for u?

Astrological influences, plus free will/choices/decisions.
Like during a "Mercury Retrograde" one has to try atleast DOUBLE to get things done and bulldoze thru challenges.

I Have learned through my own experiences, that these unlucky , and misfortune days, or periods of my life that don't always go the way i want them to or even expect them to , they happen for a reason , if only to teach me something , and when ii come through it , and look back i am wiser and, have come out feeling stronger, as well as feeling confident at overcoming my upcoming challenges. Everything cannot be wrong or working against you, you have to be optimistic that each day is a gift and be grateful for the things that are good in your life and focus on these instead of the negatives. It will pass, and you must focus on even the smallest gifts you are given each day .We are not guaranteed another day. make today count and you will be surprised at the beauty you can find even under a pile of crap. do something really nice for someone and don't tell anyone, see how this can change your whole day. it is usually not our problems or misfortunes , but the way we react to the situations.

wrong is a state of mind unlucky is a state of mind the world does not change because things are wrong or hard or unlucky. Here something that I find interesting the situations that we are presented with are just but a matter of choice. When you decide that is time for that situation to finish or continue is all up to you. We are responsible for everything and I mean everything that has happen in our past as we are responsible for what happens in our future. So make a choice and live with your choice.

My mother used to tell me that meant you were being challenged to learn a large life lesson. Somehow related to your karma.
My sister says its whenever Mercury goes into retrograde...and I am afraid she seems to be right. Too weird though.
Yes, it does happen to me, and everyone I think. Yes, it does end. I find it takes ...awhile! Maybe a day, maybe a week or two, but for awhile I felt like only even numbered years went well and the odd numbered years were tough!
I think that the best way to stop the trend: 1) go to bed, pull the covers over your head and rest!! and then, 2) get up and do something especially nice for someone else.

I just will not tell you how long that period lasted for me. Nor, will I tell you all of the losses, not only momentary but family and friends. My mental frame of mind went so low because it is so hard to deal with it all. It does last soooo long. However, if you keep your faith and keep praying, one day the answer will come. You talk about one day at a time and inch by inch, that is exactly how your new life begins. To me it is like a new birth. You are given the chance to live the life God wants you to. My life is more complete now that I have lost everything, yes, even my health. Inch by inch God has and is restoring my life. No money, no job, bad health, but great life.

I am in one of those periods right now. It usually goes from bad to bad, & other stages of bad. Now i've turned a new page over & gone to ultra worse. Last week i had a seizure at work , fell over, zap in the floor, luckily? my protective goggles broke my fall & i only had about 5 stitches in my eyebrow, which the dr. waited so patiently? to put in , when i was back to consciensness!

Now on top of everything else , I've got that to worry about. Not just my insurance bills on my house, my wife's medicine, & my credit card bill i have another bill! yeah! that's what i needed.

So i dont know how long it will last. Maybe this will lighten up. When you look around there is always someone else worse off than you are. So count it a trial & a blessing & go on. ( & remember me )

It does seem like some people have more bad luck than others!
And it also seems that some can get thru it better than others
It also seems that some can get thru a dry spell and get right past a little hump and others dwell on one little thing and hold a grudge for a hundred years, while another person can let the water roll right off their back.
BUT WAIT!!!!!!

Thats just not true!
As a counselor......and being their MYSELF....in a very abusive controlling situation , i was the smiling little obediant wife........for 12 years i smiled and patted and praised my "wonderful loving husband who could do no wrong" who WORSHIPPED me" whom everyone thought was just the PERFECT husband.....
but every single day i got food slammed in my face, coffee poured over my head, my head slammed against the wall....screamed and hollered and kicked at like i was a dog because i cooked the wrong type meal, or put the glass in the wrong spot or something very simple as turning the radio dial.....
Every one always thought i was so easy going.....but truth is i just bottled it all in.....Husband number two.....five years of marriage and 8 years out , and i STILL dont stand up to him either. But i am doing better.
It just takes a LONG LONG time when you are used to holding your hands over your head and keeping your mouth shut for peace....its one of the hardest habits to break. Even though me and my kids have been out for 8 years, he still finds ways to hold a torch over our heads. ....to torment us. pays NO CHILD SUPPORT even though hes a millionare...and i can barely survive, steals what i buy for them, etc, i feel like : KARMA, you know??

Does it end??? the bad luck? Try to be positive. Thats what i try to do. Sometimes its very hard>, but positve always pays off in the long run. GOOD LUCK SWEETIE!!!!! ::

I do not believe in "luck". Many people encounter negative experiences because they overlook or do not recognize the signs of danger, warning signs and/or "red flags" around them and they wait too long to evaluate situations that could (and should) motivate them to change their behavior, locations, associations and/or activities by any means necessary.
Frequently people assign too much importance or too little importance to things which do not play an important role in daily life or in their future safety, happiness, prosperity or contentment.
Finally, some take on too much (or too little) personal responsibility for preparing themselves financially, socially, emotionally and/or spiritually for what may come next. All "good" and all "bad" things must come to an end. Best wishes.

you have to stay positive and know that 1st someone has always got it worst than you and 2nd if you believe in God that he wont put more on you than what you can handle. face the problem head on know that you are gonna make it through even if you can't see the way out. dont stress out over things you can't control relax and remember to breathe. when I find myself going throught a tough situation I like to do a breathing exercise while I'm inhaling I spell the word breathe and then I do it while I exhale. You will get through it will come together!!!!

Everyone has these issues in life that's going against them. But, we have to learn how to conquer them. Life is tough, nothing comes easy for you or the way you want them to go most of the times. You need to have control of these things in order to get on top of these things working against you.

Ron,
it is not some people but everybody has a lean period.

Life is not a bed of roses there is ups and downs for everybody in this World.

The best thing to do is stay calm while you are distressed and wait for things to change.
