Regarding The Golden Compass

THIS IS A PERSONAL MESSAGE FROM

DR. BRYAN CUTSHALL

Yesterday, I was handed a children's book by a staff member who said, "I think you need to see this."

The book is published by Scholastic and is part of a collection of books. The book I was given is called The Golden Compass. This children's book is one of the most alarming things I have ever read. What makes it worse is that a movie based on the book premieres in December. Both the book and the movie introduce atheism to children. The story ends with Adam and Eve killing God.

THIS IS A MOVIE THAT WE MUST PROTEST AND OPPOSE AS CHRISTIANS. Please educate yourself on this by checking out the links I have provided below and help me spread the word. Do not remain silent on this issue. This is a time for the family of GOD to stand together.

I am trying to use the gcc function but it doesn't work. I have CHECKED my program file and it's extension is .c. Everytime I type gcc samp.c -o samp.exe I get:
gcc: samp.c: no such file or directory
gcc: no input files
Do I need to save the samp.c in a specific directory?

My best friend has had something going on with this guy for ages, and they started dating three years ago. We're 19 and he broke up with her earlier this year. He and I are also best friends. I hit on him when they were thinking about getting together in the first place, and because him and I are so close she's had trust issues about us ever since.

My boyfriend broke up with me earlier this year and my best friend has just started seeing someone else. I know I want to end up with my ex boyfriend. When I've tried to raise the fact I want to be with my best friend's ex with her, she gets really angry and upset. She has said now that if I really want to be with him, then I should do it, but that she doesn't want to be friends with me anymore. This makes me really angry because I don't think she has the right to feel that way now that she is seeing someone else. I haven't had much luck with boys lately, this could be my chance to move on. What do you think I should do?

Hey, it looks like I'm one of the few men who ask about baby names. Too bad. It's pretty important, and children have to live with them their entire lives.

Anyway, these are the ones we are settled on in order of preference:
Relm Darcy (female)
Alexander "Xander" Bradley (male)
Dane Jackson (2nd male)
Celeste Denice (2nd female)

Jackson is a family name (my grandpa) and Darcy is a play off of my mother's middle name. Bradley is the name of my wife's late father. The rest are just ones that we like. Yes, Relm is made-up.

Be honest, but polite. What do you think?

Where can I buy one? Walmart? How much do they cost? we moved to a new place in May, and we don't have one. So I'm wondering. The manager puts things off, so its better to do it myself

I try to live by the rule that telling someone something once is asking, the second time is a reminder after the third time and beyond it is just nagging.

a relative of mine started her own business... everything was going fine until she was denied a loan because of poor credit. Everything I always read says Money for women, a loan for women starting their own business, why isn't this the truth, why don't they state out there must have 110% perfect credit!!...Are there any women in central illinois that have opened their own business, and needed a little boost of help? Did you get it? What is the best way to get approved for a loan with bad credit? or is there another way to get money for her business???

In june, I took a long break, since August(in this time...never opened a c book or wrote a c program!) And I hated it after that...I felt like I lost someone I love! Now, if you do not practice a programming language for a while, do you forget?

And one more question...give me an idea for a useful console C program! I am out of ideas...don't know what to do!

This question may seem petty and stupid, but I need some advice. I am a 17 year old girl, never had a boyfriend, and I have been very upset and frustrated lately because I don't have any feelings for anyone. The last time I had a crush was when I was 14, and it was on a boy just because he was cute. I'd never even talked to him. I'm deeper than that now, but I've been frustrated that I don't have feelings for anyone. I'm pretty sure I'm not gay, but is it normal for a 17 year old girl to not have feelings for anyone? Granted that I really have no time to get to know any boys, but shouldn't I at least have some sort of a crush? Is this a normal thing? It seems like most girls like someone every day of their lives...I'm afraid I'm not capable of love or even little feelings anymore. I'm tired of being upset.
Please, a response is much appreciated. I'm sorry if this question is petty--I'm really not so petty normally--but I'm confused and upset and I want some advice or opinion. Thanks!

Coming from a person who has been flying since she was 3 months old, I feel that I am somewhat biased in that I think babies, children, and their parents should face little to no criticism for being on planes. I have flown for weddings, funerals, and family vacations, so I do not feel that people should only fly with children when absolutely necessary. I also think that stepping up to help or being sympathetic for parents with upset children (as long as the parents are doing something, of course) is better than sitting there and griping about it. Additionally, I feel that possibly setting aside a family section on a plane is a good idea. Not only do other passengers not have to deal with children, but children and their parents don't have to put up with any anti-child attitudes. Other parents are more likely to be sympathetic if a child becomes upset.

Using this place as a sounding board, what do you think of all this?

Ok, for the first few centuries of Christianity there was no official Bible. There were plenty of holy books, some of whom made it into the Bible, and a lot which didn't.

Until circa 1500 AD/CE, almost no one owned a copy of Bible and most people were illiterate. That's 3/4 of the history of Christianity right there.

So were the "Christians" of these areas really Christians since they didn't own Bibles?

After a family member was murdered my views of the death penalty have drastically changed. Until recently, I believed that the death penalty was unjust and cruel. But now, I after I analyzed things and I come to the conclusion that the death penalty is totally appropriate for those who kill innocent people. People argue that if a person kills someone they should be placed in prison for the rest of their and have their own life to regret what they have done.
