I try to live by the rule that telling someone something once is asking, the second time is a reminder after the third time and beyond it is just nagging.

Read the story of the widow and the judge... but that is different if you already know the answer...

Then, even twice is nagging...

God has given me all I need. I only pray for his continued love of me.
I pray to give thanks for the health and clear mind. When I come across adversity I pray for patience to not try and control everything to know when to 'let go and let God'
You only to ask for forgiveness once & pray about something once God hears you the first time after that it's like begging.
God forgives the first time if you continue asing then it's you that has not forgiven.

Hi Mate

I agree completely - in fact I don't ever ask for anything for myself at all.

I feel sorry for God being bothered by so many people about ridiculous personal wants - very sad that we as a race can't realise we should be praying that God's Will can be done on Earth - that's IT!!!!!!

If that could happen we would be happy!

And Jesus tells the story of the woman who was constantly nagging at the judge to give her a judgement on her behalf and they judge finally does to get her off his case ..I don't ever remember book and chapter but heard it the other day during the gospel.
If you don't pray often about your needs it aint' going to happen!

You can pray for something once, and you might or might not get it. And you can pray for something a thousand times, and you might or might not get it. Prayer is pretty unreliable that way.

And yet if you do get what you pray for, some people will praise God for an answer to their prayer. But if you don't, they will say it was because it "wasn't God's will" or you didn't have enough faith.

I wouldn't pray even if I believed in God. Why? Why would God change his divine plan to cater to a human's prayer? God knows what he's doing, right? Why can't you just let him do whatever he wants instead of bitching at him all the time? Maybe God has a special plan for cancer patients, or he WANTS you to be frustrated with your job? Step off it. If something's wrong in your life, don't turn to God. Turn to yourself to fix the problem.

Some do. If they don't truly believe with their heart and soul that God can and will do what they need and desired, then it won't happen so they need to practice asking until they get it right in God's eyes.

One time only. God hears and sees everything you do and ask for and knows every single thought you are thinking at every single second.

According to J.C. you need to keep praying and bothering God over and over again--eventually he will give you your desire just out of frustration!
