Regarding The Golden Compass

THIS IS A PERSONAL MESSAGE FROM

DR. BRYAN CUTSHALL

Yesterday, I was handed a children's book by a staff member who said, "I think you need to see this."

The book is published by Scholastic and is part of a collection of books. The book I was given is called The Golden Compass. This children's book is one of the most alarming things I have ever read. What makes it worse is that a movie based on the book premieres in December. Both the book and the movie introduce atheism to children. The story ends with Adam and Eve killing God.

THIS IS A MOVIE THAT WE MUST PROTEST AND OPPOSE AS CHRISTIANS. Please educate yourself on this by checking out the links I have provided below and help me spread the word. Do not remain silent on this issue. This is a time for the family of GOD to stand together.

I checked this out at snopes.Com; unfortunately, it's true... There will be a new children's movie out in December called "The Golden Compass." The movie has been described as "atheism for kids" and is based on the first book of a trilogy entitled "His Dark Materials" written by Phillip Pullman. Pullman is a militant atheist and secular humanist who despises

C. S. Lewis and the "Chronicles of Narnia." His motivation for writing this trilogy was specifically to counteract Lewis' symbolisms of Christ portrayed in the Narnia series.

Clearly, Pullman's main objective is to bash Christianity and promote atheism. Pullman left little doubt about his intentions when he said in a 2003 interview, "my books are about killing God." He has even stated that he wants "to kill God in the minds of children." It has been said of Pullman that he is "the writer the atheists would be praying for, if atheists prayed."

While "The Golden Compass" movie itself may seem mild and innocent,

They just have no respect for us Christians. If we made a movie saying atheist's are devil's workers or something like that, they would not display this at the movie theatre's at all. Yes it is our choice to see this movie ,but you never know if your young one will go see this because he or she was influenced by a friend. The minds of young children can get changed easily and this movie can increase that. This movie is very disrespectful and to accept it and let it play in theatres is even worse. I saw the trailer and thought the movie was pretty stupid, but now that I know more about the real deal behind the movie I am even more concerned for our young christian children out there. Yes we may all not be christians but please get the fact that this is not right and it is inconciderate to us christians. Just please take the time to consider this.

In case you have forgotten, this is AMERICA! You know, the place where we have the FREEDOM to say what we want, write what we want, watch what we want, and, yes, practice whatever religion we want or no religion at all. If you don't like the idea behind this book/movie, don't read/watch it. I too am a Christian, but I also believe in America and Freedom of speech. I have 2 children who will NOT be seeing this movie, but I don't think anybody has the right to tell anybody else that they can't make this or any movie. If anybody could decide what should or should not be recorded, I would tell Michael Moore to stop making "Movies". I find his work far more offensive than any religious (or anti-religious) movie.

Sometimes, this world is just one dissapointment after another. Attacking the minds of children is very sad indeed, and if that is the one way he wishes to introduce his thoughts then he is a sad man. Let the young be young, and learn about things when they're older, this truly is sad. As a Christian, this does dissapoint me.... I for one will not see the movie, or the book. I honestly couldn't handle it.

God Bless.

Right behind all you true Christians! Christians must protest and oppose this movie! I am going to put this information in my church this week and would tell other Christians to do the same. I protested the Da Vinci Code movie last year with a group from my church...and will probably do the same with this one as well!

I think people look to much into things. And when they get bored they look for a way to cause problems. I believe that is what that "Dr." Bryan Cutshall is trying to do. I think it's ridiculous that as adults we look into silly little things like children's stories and make a scene out of the innocence of simple book. It's gotten worse every since someone bored and christian decided Harry Potter was a tool for teaching witchcraft. Seriously people, let it go. You all wonder why kids grow up so quickly it's because you make a huge deal out of nothing. Let kids be kids and stop looking into things, stop looking for the evil in everything. I'm not slamming the poster here I'm just giving my opinion. Good Luck.

Thank you so much for this information. If you hear of any other relevant stuff, relating to brainwashing kids, please e#mail me. The worst thing is sometimes when my kids ask me to buy them certain films, I admit I don't always know what they are about. If we share information like this with one another, we can be wiser to the wicked ways of this cold world. Thanks again.

It's just a movie, kids with a good family structure at home won't have a problem. You sound like one of those uptight republican hypocrites. I'm not calling you one, but you sound that way!

I'd advise you not to let your children see it then. Also, what is so Christian about the Narnia books?

Leave this man alone...sheesh...there's a war going on that'll be much more harmful to our future and our childrens future than some movie or book. Go protest the war...im sorry but i got like 4 emails from people telling me about this and my response has always been the same....there's a war going on!

I posted something very similar to this in R&S and got a lot of negative responses. Beware. I think it has a lot of truth to it.
