It seems to me that most words with the suffix ism, like racism, capitalism, nationalism, indicate a belief of supremacy associated with the root word. It also seems that many female feminists that I have met aren't really after equality but are instead after positions of domination over males. Many male feminists seem like supplicants and sycophants to females, and perhaps this does bring some level of equality since it parallels male chauvinism so well.

Warbird fans ought to love this one. Two U.S. Navy World War II carrier-based fighters square off over the blue Pacific.

The F4U Corsair was a Marine Corps favorite, one of the fastest fighters of the era. It's gull wing makes it distinctive in appearance.

The F8F Bearcat didn't quite make it into combat. It was on its way aboard USS Langley when V-J Day came. The Bear was the latest of a trio of single-engine Grumman fighters to go aboard carriers in World War II.

So, pilots--don your parachutes and "Mae West" life vests. Man your planes, start your engines, and get ready to launch.

In this corner, flying off USS Intrepid, the F4U. In this corner, flying off USS Lexington, the F8F. May the best pilot and plane win.

Who might that be?

I asked a question about the ACLU and got reported. I guess the fact that I'm not an illegal alien,a pedaphile, a member of the American Nazi Party or a minority in general, the first ammendment does not apply to me.

I've always been kind of a shy person and I only need a few friends, plus I put all my energy into a couple of close friendships at a time, but lately one of my friends has been ticking me off a lot. I guess it might or might not pass over but I know it would be healthy for me to spend more time with other friends. I have a lot of friendly aquaintances but it's hard for me to know how to let people know I'd like to get together more. Sometimes I try a bit but a lot of people don't seem to have time and then I get frustrated and give up. Some people might think I'm boring because I never drink and I'm sort of brainy and nerdy, but I'm really a good listener. Often I want to hang around people who are a lot older but I think they make assumptions about me because of my age.

Hi,

I want to buy a car online, however i am worried about scams. I am located in Canada and am looking to buy a car from the UK. All i have is pictures and an e-mail.

She told me that she will pay for the shipping costs via Lufthansa Air Cargo and the car will arrive at your door in 5-7 days tops.

QUOTE FROM EMAIL

The transaction will be done through eBay Purchase Protection for our own protection, no money first to me. I am registered with their secure trader department and they will handle the trade. Your funds will be 100% insured by eBay Purchase Protection until you will receive and inspect the item, and I will be sure that I will receive the payment.
You will have 15 days from the time you receive the car to inspect it and decide if you want to keep it or not.

END

Does it look legit?

thanks for feedback

I would like to make pretzels for a preschool mommy and me cooking class I teach. We generally do not make anything that requires a stove, but I have a hotplate I can use. I measure out the ingredients into little cups and the kids dump it in a bowl and mix it up. They have a parent to help, and I have 45 minutes to fill, so I generally like to do projects that have 2 parts so I can use up some time. (We also sing and color etc) For instance make cookies, make frosting, frost cookies.

I would like to make pretzels tommorrow and shape them like pumpkins. I found 2 recipes. One is just dough that you brush with egg and sprinkle with salt.

The other requires rising, shaping, baking, BOILING and baking again.

I would rather skip the boiling water with 3 year olds, but I wondered whether anyone has ever tried the other kind. Is is just like eating a piece of bread, or does it resemble a pretzel.

Many thanks!

What are the benefits of both?

I'm having a hard time deciding.

Would I have to cut my hair short for either?

I'm not even sure what job I would want to do.

Can anyone tell me their experiences with the whole process? From walking in to whatever happened. I just want as much info as I can.

Thank you in advance.

"If a man happens to meet a virgin who is not pledged to be married and rapes her and they are discovered, he shall pay the girl's father fifty shekels of silver. He must marry the girl, for he has violated her. He can never divorce her as long as he lives." Deuteronomy 22:28-29
Why does everyone take this out of context? Back when the Bible was written, men were pigs who wouldn't marry a girl if she wasn't a virgin, no matter how that happened. If she was raped, she would never get married, which was pretty much all they cared about back then. Making the rapist marry the girl ensured she would have a husband. The divorce thing was to make sure he would never try to leave the marriage. This wasn't about making a victim marry her attacker, it was about forcing a guy to pay for stealing the one thing a girl needed to get married, her virginity. Today, people will understand if you were raped, and won't treat you differently for it, so that is not neccessary anymore.

In California, why don't they just cut the trees down in a RIVER-LIKE path to stop the fire? Lets face it, there is ONLY ONE way to stop the California fire, CUT IT. If there are no trees or brush in the way, there's not going to be any fire now is there?
The funny thing is that I heard that they don't wan't to kill the endangered watchama-call-it Frog when they cut down the trees,m so they make it against the law to cut the trees? But Ironically because they don't the forest burns down and the endangered frogs die anyways? Right? And the Californians Houses burn down because they weren't allowed to cut thier grass and shrubs and stuff because they could possibly kill some sort of endangered rat and if they did cut their lawns, then they would be put in jail for one year and get fined $100,000/ Right?!.
Do Democrats want the forests to burn down? After all, they make laws not to cut the trees which is the only way to stop the fire, PREMANENTLY.

I have a 20" Sanyo CRT tv. Picture is excellent and the sound from the speaker is great also. However, when I turn on the TV there is a very loud buzzing sound, which drowns out the tv sound and makes watching it unbearable. Is it a bad relay or something? Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

There are so many people on Yahoo! Answers asking for advice on how to dress goth for Halloween, like being goth is a joke. I'm sure that there are people asking similar questions about all sorts of groups like emos, geeks, jocks, etc. Isn't it insulting to dress up like a subculture or group that you don't belong to? Is it a joke to them? Every time I see someone ask "how do I be goth for Halloween" I fight the urge to respond "that's funny, I was wondering how to dress like a b*tch for Halloween, can you help me with that?" What do you all think?
