Think of prom for adults. That is how most of the women dress for it when I went to the MCB

If he is no longer in the Marine Corps he can wear a tuxedo. Don't worry about being a little overweight. I garuantee no matter your size, their will be someone there that is 3 times bigger than you with it all hanging out thinking she looks like a million dollars when she looks extremely tacky (LOL). I have 3 kids (including a set of twins that are 2) so my body is not in the best shape. I am wearing a long black dress with rhinestones on the bust and a black jacket with rhinestones going around the collar and jacket opening with black satin heels with rhinestones on the toe (I know it sounds like a lot of rhinestones but it is really very subtle). I also have a great black shaw I bought for $100 a couple of years ago and it looks great and covers everything (and I almost forgot the most important thing -- a girdle and support hose LOL). Good luck in picking out a dress. You can never go wrong with black.

I'm an active duty Marine and our ball is this coming Friday. Your husband does not have to wear his blues but if he isn't wearing a suit and tie he'll look out of place with the rest of the civilian male guests. As far as the clothing you should wear, a nice dress is appropriate. Dress like your going to a prom or homecoming and you'll be fine.

It is a formal occasion. I am going to be 32 weeks pregnant at our ball this year. I got a formal maternity gown and will be wearing nice heals. I would wear a shaw if that makes you more comfortable. I would not dress "tacky" as it does not look good for your husband or anyone else. I would not worry about being heavy at all. Your husband loves you for who you are. If I can go being really pregnant than you can go and have fun too... Good luck

Wear something similar to a prom gown, yet more mature. Go for a color that compliments your mans uniform. If he is wearing Alphas wear something that looks good with the green. If he is wearing his blues something that goes with the blue, black, red. Don't be to flashy or fancy. The night is about your Marine, not you, you don't want to drown him out. Make sure your dress is comfortable, you may be there a while. Have fun.

don't be nervous! they are fun!!! we went to a few while being stationed with a marine command. We are Navy. He should wear his dress blues and you should find a nice formal dress to compliment you and his uniform. there are many dresses that will look good on thicker women. also try and nice shawl to cover up some of the areas ur not comfu with!
most of all have fun!

Just wear whatever makes you feel comfortable, I've seen women wear some outrageous things to the MCB so whatever you wear shouldnt surprise anyone, plus you are there to help celebrate a Marine Corps tradition, no one is going to be there to judge you, they are going to be there to have a good time. Basically what I'm saying is....."do you".

Tea length or cocktail length dress. As a Marine, he SHOULD wear his Blues, even if he is no longer Active Duty.

comfortable and yet elegant. like the prom, but maybe not no much. Just wear something you are comfortable with but make sure you feel pretty in it too. Good luck!
