How would you write the t?? IE: follow the procedures down to the t...

Take Proverbs 31 for example... in the New World Translation that they (created and) use, the word wife (ba'al) is replaced by the word "owner". Now this is part of the definition from Strong's:

H1167
בּעל
ba‛al
bah'-al
From H1166; a master; hence a husband, or (figuratively) owner (often used with another noun in modifications of this latter sense: - + archer, + babbler, + bird, captain, chief man, + confederate, + have to do, + dreamer, those to whom it is due, + furious, those that are given to it, great, + hairy, he that hath it, have, + horseman, husband, lord, man, + married, master, person, + sworn, they of.


So my question is, why would the word "owner" be used exclusively, and not the word "husband" as is its implication... nor any other closer words like "lord", and how is this usage explained to JW's??

I grew up in the Church of Christ - but over time as I began to study and pray on my own; I grew tired of all the legalism, hypocrisy and especially judgmental attitudes in that particular body of believers.

That was over 20 years ago but I was wondering today about some of those beliefs, if they are still in effect today like....

1) Do they still believe instrumental music in worship service is a sin?
2) Do they still believe they are not just another denomination, but the one true church of Christ?
3) Do they still believe other Christians in other denominations are going to hell because they are not saved members of the one true church?
4) Do they still preach that dancing and mixed bathing are sinful, immoral behaviors (I swear when I was in high school, they forbade us to go to our own Senior Prom!)


Anyway - these questions are mostly just for those of you who are still in the Church of Christ or might know something about it?

I have been using a maragrine that I recently found out had something in it from boiling left over animal parts, but it isn't clear in the ingredients. I know that some things can be hidden on labels. What maragrine is okay to use if you want to avoid any animal products?

I sleep 6 hours at nite, and sometimes I can stretch it out to 7, but I really dont require a lot of sleep. If I go to bed at 11PM, I am ready to get up at about 5:30 or 6 AM. Right now I have been up for 1 hour here in Illinois and the sun is just popping out.
My boyfriend, on the other hand, will sleep form 11PM until 9 or 10 the next day. He then wants to sleep in the afternoon and also likes to catch naps all day long.
It about drives me crazy. I am having some problems accomodating his sleep habits.
He says he is tired. I think he may have some physical health problems. He works way too many hours. He is currently on a break. Finally.
What do you think of someone who sleeps 10-12 hrs a nite and then naps in the daytime?

I don't smell or have snakes in my hair, but a lot of people just do not like me from the moment they meet me. Men and women. I will hear how wonderful someone is and when I am finally introduced and I am so kind and nice and try to have conversation they will not really speak to me. The men completely ignore me and will not even look at me and the women just seem to stare at me and give me dirty looks and say bad things about me to my other friends. This seems like it is always happening and it is starting to make me feel horrible. No one seems to want to get to know me or give me a chance. Maybe I am over thinking things. I met my friends new potential boyfriend last night and he said hi and shook my hand and said NOTHING to me for the rest of the night and talked w/ everyone else. He wouldnt even look me in the eye. Plus girls I meet ALWAYS give me nasty looks & dont want to even try to get to know me. Any suggestions? Do people do this to you? Im really feeling bad.

It's been there for years, and it's HUGE.
Yesterday, I took the garden shears to it and cut it down to a big clump.
Then I took a saw to it and cut it right back to its core. Now it's just a solid black stump about 2 feet across by 1 foot high.
I want to dig this stump out, but I've already broken 1 spade and 2 forks trying to do this. The handles just snapped with the sheer weight of pressure involved.
I don't want to use any kind of weed-killer or chemicals because I'm wanting to plant an apple tree in the hole when I eventualy get it out.
I can't afford to keep replacing broken spades and forks, so has anyone got any suggestions?

I am writing a paper on the portrayal of sexualized images of women in American culture and media for my Human Sexual Behaviour paper.

I think it is interesting that many American's express outrage at Janet Jackson's nipple or Britney Spears etc., but seemingly most female sports broadcast on television have women wearing revealing clothing with many gratuitous close-ups of breasts and butts. Anyway, it seems as though the prevailing theories are sports and television are male dominated and thats what they want to see, women just like to show off their bodies more nowadays, and wearing next to nothing is more comfortable.

Women and men are both encouraged to respond

BTW, the main sports I am talking about are volleyball, gymnastics, track and field, and aerobics, yoga, pilates etc. on TV.
