I sleep 6 hours at nite, and sometimes I can stretch it out to 7, but I really dont require a lot of sleep. If I go to bed at 11PM, I am ready to get up at about 5:30 or 6 AM. Right now I have been up for 1 hour here in Illinois and the sun is just popping out.
My boyfriend, on the other hand, will sleep form 11PM until 9 or 10 the next day. He then wants to sleep in the afternoon and also likes to catch naps all day long.
It about drives me crazy. I am having some problems accomodating his sleep habits.
He says he is tired. I think he may have some physical health problems. He works way too many hours. He is currently on a break. Finally.
What do you think of someone who sleeps 10-12 hrs a nite and then naps in the daytime?

my husband does this and it drives me nuts

when he was working third shift..it was 11 30 pm to 7 30 am..he would get home at 8 am..*if he only worked 8 hours*...
he would be in bed by 8 30 am..and wouldnt wake up until 10 pm..not he works a day job..leaves for work at 5 30..and gets home around 5 30..depending on where hes working....hes in bed by 8..

i on the other hand..maybe get 4 hours of sleep a night..nothing pisses me off more when hes home and says he needs a nap during the day when he never gets less then 10 hours of sleep..and i get maybe 4..

when my hubby went to the doctor..they said it was because..he was working a lot..and the hours he was working third shift..means he pretty much needs twice the amount of sleep to make up for what a normal scheduled person would sleep..and now that hes working this job...its going to take time to adjust to the hours..

i personally think its just something men do so they dont have to get off their butts to help out

If I had my way I would sleep 9 hrs. a nite. However, I don't have that luxury. I am on the go from the moment I wake up until I fall into bed at nite. I do usually get 7 or 8 hrs sleep (I never feel like I sleep well though) I think your boyfriend is probably tired if he is working so much. It might help him to start a physical fitness program, it is hard to get started, but it is a proven fact that it gives you more energy.

Wow, your bf does sleep a lot! It's ok over a couple of days. You said he works too much and is on a break, so maybe he has some sleep to catch up to.

Other than that, if you sleep that much, it would actually make you more tired.

I sleep less than my man, he goes to bed about 1-2 hours earlier than me and we get up at the same time. But he works harder physically than me.

Definitely abnormal, perhaps see a doctor. As you grow old, normally you'll sleep less hours that why a baby always sleep about 12 hours.
