I had a vasectomy 15 years ago... thereabouts. Three of my friends had one too.. a job lot! Our doctor was Doctor Kline. He had a sense of humour. He made an incision on each of our scrotums in the shape of the letter K. It's still there... I'd show you only I'm a little bashful.. lol.
The secret is not to move around a lot afterwards. REALLY take 3 days rest.. doing nothing much but lying around on the couch... watching anything but porn. If he moves around.. then the boys will bruise up and it will take longer to recover. Two of the four of us.. did move around.. htey suffered for over a week. I was done on Friday and recovered by Monday...... back on the nest in a week or so.
Seated with knees up is useful. Takes the strain away. Not that it hurts.. it's a dull pain.... but if you don't rest.... you pay.
I was still "viable" 6 weeks later.. so take the samples for the tests seriously.
Everything works the same as previously. You wouldnt know I've had a vasectomy if you didnt ask why I have the letter K branded on my sak. :)
Take care of him.. pander him well for at least three days... he is being a very generous and brave warrior putting his jewels on the front line for his family!

The procedure itself is more uncomfortable than painful. Afterward, wear loose-fitting clothing. I was scheduled to go on a bus trip for three days the day after my surgery. The surgery had been scheduled months in advance, the trip opportunity came up, and the doctor said I would be fine. It was actually better to be on a bus than drive myself, although I drove myself home after the surgery. I have a physical job, and I was out for a week. Someone working in an office could probably get by missing only a day.
I had always worn briefs - never had worn boxers in my life, and didn't like the idea. The doctor suggested them so my wife bought a package. You definitely don't want to wear briefs after this procedure. I never went back to wearing briefs after that.
Everything will work as well as it did before the surgery. Your husband's surgeon will let him know what to expect, I don't remember much except that I had no problems at all.

I had mine done 13 years ago. No problems whatsoever. I went in on a thursday afternoon and drove myself home afterwards. The only discomfort was the initial shots for the local anesthesia.
I had a very physically demanding job at the time and returned to work the next monday without any problems.
My sexual life didn't suffer at all, if anything it has improved since there isn't any worry about pregnancy any more.
The only part of the process that was uncomfortable were the two times I had to take a 'sample' in to make sure the procedure worked. It wasn't bad physically (of course) but was a tad embarassing to hand it over to a nurse who happened to be very cute.

my husband had one 3 years ago and i watched the whole procedure and it was not bad and he will tell you the same more uncomfortable than pain. just make sure that you have plenty of ice packs for him over the next 2-3 days. take care of him and tell him to please take it easy. just rest and lay around and do NOTHING!!!! you have got a big baby to deal with for about 4 days!!! but really it was not that bad and now sex is better than ever!! nothing to worry about!! we have 2 beautiful healthy children and that is good for us!! best thing we ever done. just take care of him and you will be glad in a few weeks. oh yea make sure you take samples back to the doc when he tells ya. make sure you get a green light b/f the sex starts back!! good luck to both of u!!!!

Had mine 34 years ago. Piece of cake. Had it done on a Friday and was back to work on Monday. No pain, no swelling,,,nothing. I've had women ask to see the scare to prove I'd had one. That was about twenty years ago. You can't see the scar now, but it still works!!!! Best thing I ever did. (Concerning sex)

I had mine done on Friday, drove myself home, and went back to work on Monday. The key is no matter how strong, he thinks he is, he must follow instructions, and not do anything physical for the first few days.
Other than that, it is a "piece of cake".
