With some USB devices, you have to run a CD that loads the drivers first, and then connect the item. Without the drivers it is unable to detect the item.

If you plugged the modem in before you loaded drivers, you may have to clear the USB ports before it will see the item even after the drivers are loaded. Go to the Control Panel and click on the System Icon. Go to the Hardware tab, then click on the Device Manager button.

Look down the list of installed items and see if there is anything with either a yellow ! or a red X in fron of it. If so, rightclick on that item and uninstall it. That will remove the failed attempt to install the USB device and allow Windows to try it again.

If you are still not able to get it to see the modem, then contact your ISP. That is what they have a help line number for. They will be able to get it working for you.

It probably won't detect the modem.. usually with devices like that you have to load the driver first.. THEN connect the kit itself
