i want to make chocolate chip cookies, and the recipe calls for baking soda. is it ok if i substitute baking powder instead of baking soda? i dont have baking soda at home right now.

Does anyone know how to paint on a welding helmet?
I have a good friend whose boyfriend is going to graduate from welding school next year. Since I'm an artist, she wants to buy a black welder's helmet and have me hand paint a custom design on it. No problem.

I've researched online and found out that welding helmets are primarily made of fiberglass or a poly resin mixture ... and people that have hand painted them have done it with polyurethane paint ... but that's all they say.

Wouldn't you need to clear coat the final work and if so with what? Since you'd assume he'll be working in a hot, flamable environment, the kind of paint and clear coat you use would have to be safe ...

Does anyone have any tips or suggestions on where to start on this project ... what materials to use ... and how to do it make the end product as safe as possible?

I need to ask you all how to do everything in wicca living a "stone age" life in the woods(living in a tee pee, yurt, wooden shack, etc, building fires, growing/hunting food, etc.). Yes I do want to live like that one day. And there is absolutely no money involved with it. As I said, its a primitive life.
I do understand the challenges of primitive living but I am up for it because I despise the realm of society.

I'm asking this because my girlfriend is a wiccan and she wants to do the same thing that I'm gonna do.
Btw I also want to be wiccan (someday), so if you have any links to sites that teach it then put them up.

...been tasked to put my mother's affairs in order, due to her being bed-ridden & terminal; my father, also her ex-husband, came to live with her, a few months ago, to help her be comfortable, & to handle her affairs. In the midst of attempting to do this, he has been made my mom's Power of Attorney. Unfortunately, my father has repeatedly succumbed to alcoholism (...this has been going on for about 4 years), & in the midst of trying to help my mom, & trying to 'keep clean', he has failed oh-so miserably, & has made himself more of a hinderance, than an asset. At this time, although having become a few days 'straight', he is not mentally capable of handling my mom's affairs. He made made himself a most unreliable element, in this respect....

...in attempting to handle my mom's affairs, is there any way that I can possibly effect any resolution in my mom's affairs, & become her Power of Attorney, in my father's stead?

...getting real frustrated, that I cannot do anything!

Another Brad question.

The thing is i've dreamt of Brad Pitt4 way too long. I know it sounds stupid cause i don't even know him, and will never meet him.

I only know parts of the people he pretends to be (the characters he's acte/portrayed). But i feel innocence raw/real emotions, when i look at him (who knows it might just be animal magnetism/just a crush) .

I guess i can't really like him though. I couldn't really want someone whose real self comes across as incredibly selfish and almost wicked.. i mean look at how he left Jeniffer Aniston and continued an affair with another woman like he had not just left 7years of his life behind (there's no way he wasn't cheating on his wife.
(I know u can't stay with a person u don't want)
.I still like him:-).

i just want to know can this happen in real life, i mean, With Brad Pitt i know its fantasy, iKnow i'ma fan with a crush. But can people really love/think they love someone they don't like/know& would it really be luv?

We've lost the Christmas party to "holiday party" and Easter party to "spring party." The kids are not allowed to wear Halloween costumes to school any more and now there's a new "NO sweet treat" rule. Parents are not allowed to bring anything sweet (cupcakes, birthday cake, brownies, etc) for their birthdays or any other class party. We are only allowed to bring in things like cheese squares, veggies and fruit. The principal said that anything brought in "against her policies" will be confiscated. (Like it's contraband or something.)

I'm all for having healthy kids however I think telling a kid that he has to bring in carrot sticks as a party snack for his birthday is rediculous. The other problem that this is creating is poor self image in these kids. At a birthday party, the kid next door said, "I can't have cake and ice cream, it's not healthy and I don't want to get fat." This is a SIX year old that said this who is NOT fat. This is not an isolated case.

Can she do this?
