the economy is facing a major insolvency crisis

reducing slightly the rate at which the colossal national debt is increasing is trivial

it's like a 300 lb man claiming that a reduction in his rate of weight gain from 5 lbs a month to 4 lbs a month is good news

good news? i think not

(i say allegedly, since i wouldnt be surprised if the figures were massaged to make them appear better than is the reality)

It got so bad i really thought i was going to faint, so had to go downstairs to get food, but as i did that i fainted at the botton of the stairs. after i came 2 again, i went and got food, whats wrong with me?, still feeling kinda faint, but better

Right now, the only maintenance I do is...
Once a week I scan with Norton Antivirus,
about every 2 weeks I run SpyBot and Adaware.
I know this is bad, that there are several more things I should be doing.
Should I scandisc regularly?
Should I be defragging?
Should I be deleting temporary internet files, are there other files that should be deleted, on the regular basis? How do I get rid of all the ones that need to go?
What else do I need to do to get my computer running at an optimal level?
How do I check for and get rid of problems like... incomplete programs that did not install or un-install correctly, hardware installation and un-installation, unused and corrupted drivers.
Also what programs should be regularly updated, for example...Java, Quicktime, flashplayer, DirectX, Shockwave player? Do you know of any sites, where I can check to see if I need updated versions of any of these or other needed programs.
Should I check on updating my ActiveX controls, how?

Ok, Im 26 my aunt is 49 (my moms sister) and im married w/3 kids,my own home, and new car. Im also a stay at home mom. My aunt is divorced w/2 adult children and just lost her home unfortuntly and living in my grandmas home(her mom), well she comes over and "observes" and then gathers her own opinions about my marriage what is usually bad just because im a homebody and i really dont care to hang out in the streets she says ive changed and i must be unhappy w/ my marraige and it is so not true!!. She tells other family members like my unhappy sister and then they call my house saying stuff like "I guess you cant talk on the phone because your husband dosent want you to." I love my family but misery loves company and they have to stay away. They even makes suggestions about me leaving my husband! because they dont like him. What would u do?

I, like millions of his fans have a lot of respect for him.

In my eyes his right up there @ the number 1 spot & i have a lot of statistical data to prove that.

You jst look at his stats & he beats all of his opponents in the key departments. His has performed in all countries,on all types of pitches & against all great batsmen of his time.

I know M.Marshall,Fred Trueman & Joel Garner had a slightly better average but then again they all stopped at 250-300+ wickets while 'Mr.Pigeon' - Glenn McGrath went on to take '563' wickets leaving these 3 far behind.

In ODI's also he has the better average among the top 10 wicket takers.

Bottomline - If you very carefully examine the bowling stats of top 20 bowlers ever in both test cricket & odi cricket , you will conclude that this guy 'Glennn McGrath' beats others in most of the categories.

I give fast bowlers some extra credit because they have to put in a hell lot of efforts to be successful

He and a girl were in afterschool detention ,she flashed her bare top to him and he reached a pinched her , now the mother is charging him with sexual hassult and he was expelled from school , his real mom I guess works with the girls mother and said because she doesnt want to lose biz she is going to let him go down for it , pretty much stepping aside ,and not giving us really any insight on all the details of the police said ect,,,I am worried sick ,and really beleive hes a good kid just had a really bad error in judgement, he knows how to treat others ,respectfully , his mom moved a bit further away last year and he has been acting out a bit but not enough for her to just throw him away like this ...Please if anyone has any thoughts on what I need to do next ...PLEASE

I'm grading my students' English composition test right now and I found one answer seemed to be grammatically wrong!
So I deducted her points but she claims that her sentence is just less common expression - not grammatically incorrect.

Below is her sentence:
"In fact, the average child spends more than four hours in front of a screen each day, engaging in screen entertainment, substituing time that used to be spent for physical activity."

I personally think there should be an 'and' between 'entertainment' and substituiting'.
Also 'that used to be spent FOR physical activity' is what she wrote, but shouldn't it be 'spent ON physical activity'?

I'm just an undergrad student and grading high schoolers' test is my part time job (which means I'm not professional)!
So I might be wrong and her answer might be correct.

If you are a native speaker of English and quite confident in English grammar, please tell me if her answer is correct or not.

I am 13, turning 14 soon. I am overweight and have man boobs. I am very embarrassed by them and tend to hunch over to hide them. This is very bad for my back and I need to get rid of my man boobs. I have a large body build and feel I could have a really nice buff figure if i worked out. I am trying to get a weight lifting machine thing, not exactly sure of the name of those. I'm hoping that would help me become stronger, lose fat, and get rid of these annoying man boobs. Does anyone have any opinions on how to get rid of them AND become more muscular at the same time? Are there any exercises I could do with a weight lifting machine that would help me? I can barely do a push-up... Pathetic, I know. So, I was looking for an alternative?
