I have a light fixture that is less than 6 months old (closet/kitchen/hallway) that takes a 9-inch round fluorescent bulb and it quit working. I bought a new bulb and it still doesn't work. If you plug the bulb into the fixture, there is a slight glow where the plug is and if you touch the bulb the glow will grow further. This is a new fixture and I have tried 3 new bulbs (which are supposed to last for 5 years the box claims). Does anyone know what could be wrong with this fixture or if there is a way to fix it? I would rather not have to go out and buy yet another new fixture if I don't have to. Is this a possible ballast problem or something else and could it be fixable?

Does sending someone to jail who has done no harm to anyone make sense? Someone who misses a single traffic court arraignment is arrested and spends a night in jail, is this fair, isn't it more costly to the system? Unnecessarily costly? Men who fall behind on child custody payments are being put in jail to earn credit and reduce their back payments owed for child custody, How does this even make sense? Non-violent drug offenses, how much are we paying to keep these people in jail because they are drug addicts? It has been proven that drug treatment is more effective, and less costly, so why are we still sending these people to jail?

My question is why ?

I grew up in a Third World country, and there the cruelty of women is more explicit. Among me and my schoolmates, everyone agreed that their mothers punished more severely and often in merciless fits of rage.

In school, the most feared teachers and the ones who beat the most were all female.(In my country, teachers are allowed to discipline students)

Feminists try to rationalize it by saying nonsense like "oh, women spend more time with the children than men, that's why they beat them more. But it's not about quanitity, it's about the severity of the punishment.

I've personally witnessed some rather cruel beatings by my neighbor's mothers in my childhood (beating with rope, beating with buckle end, beating with high heel shoes and other things that would make you guys cringe )

ok on june 8th 2007 i was working for a race tack and got burnt really bad. i was only 15 years old and they had me working a huge gas grill, one of the uge barbecue grills. my boss lit the grill and turned the gas up. then he shut the lid, i went out 10 minutes to check on the burgers and i noticed the flame went out. so i shut the lid and went in and got a lighter to light it. when i lit it, the grill blew up because of all the gas built up inside of the grill. i was in the hospital burn unit for 1 day and have scars from it. should i sue? also i have pictures if u would like to see them.

Heres the deal... Ive been with my man for 4 years now... We werent commited for the first year and then I gave him an ultimatem... title or nothing at all... I got tired of being in limbo... Anyways 6 months after we made it official I found a horrible msg from his ex on his voicemail talking about having had sex w/him earlier that week... Well I called the *****- who knew about us!!! (GgRrRr) and talked to her four about 4 hours and found out everything... turns out he was still seeing her the first 6 months we were together, then stopped for a year and did it again, when I found out. I told him I wouldnt be able to forgive him and that I didnt think I'd ever forget it but we really felt a strong connection and decided to try and work things out... I still have my doubts almost three years later... My question to you mature men out there is do you think he learned from this? and if so, have any men ever been thru what I just explained and stayed faithful? HELP!

The first ammendment states, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof," This one small statement is interpreted to mean that there is NO interaction between government and religion. There are even some people who think christians should not even hold public office.

From a christian point of view, how do you view "separation of church and state, knowing that separtion of church and state is interpreted from the above excerpt of the 1st ammendmant and taken from a letter written to the Danbury Baptists rather than an actual statement in the constitution?

Religious existance in the U.S. is summed up by the government in 16 words.

Would you like to see a fundamentalist christian country?
