I just got hired at a restaurant today (Sept. 14). Me and my family are going to Jamaica on Oct. 7. My new job orientation in in a few days. Should I have told them today when they hired me or at the orientation. Would they have not hired me if I told them I needed this time off? Will this make me look bad in the eyes of my employer? A born again Christians told me that saying a Hail Mary is a sin, because it means you are praying to Mary when you can only pray to God, because it makes Mary a mediator between man and God when Jesus is our only mediatory, because it calls Mary the "Mother of God" which is blasphemy, and because it calls Mary "full of grace" when only God is full of grace. okay so here are the clues

1)he forced his own son to sacrifice himself because some people didnt believe in him
2)he killed countless innocent animals and even people in a flood
3)he sends you to hell for not believing in him even though he hasnt given you any proof
4)he lied to two people saying they could eat from any tree except one(knowledge), but kicked them out because he didnt want them to eat from another tree(immortality)
5)he sends gays to hell even though he made them gay as he did "create everybody" or he "made everything"
6)he wanted to handicap two people(to not know the difference between right and wrong)
7)he knocked up a woman who already had a boyfriend
8)abandoned his own son when he needed him the most(Jesus did say "My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me")
9)he sends people of other religions to hell(even though there's no way of knowing which god is the right one)
10)is against people touching themselves sexually(even though they dont hurt anybody)

America was founded because a group of people go tired of the Tyrany of their government.
America was founded to protect individual rights, rather than political power.
America was founded to create a government strong enough to protect individual liberties and provide stability without creating a despotic state which would destroy the liberties it was intended to preserve.
America was founded under the ideal that ALL people are created equally.


now under these founding ideals, how is being liberal anti-american, when most liberals are fighting for the exact things that this country was founded on. Wouldnt it be the other way around, that the group trying to prohibit individual rights, and the group who is letting the government destroy that which it was created to protect...would actually be anti-american.

My fiance was cleaning out his pockets last night, and a laminated pic of him fell out. I picked it up and asked him what it was. He tried to snatch it out of my hand, but I wouldn't give it back til he told me what it was. Turns out, he bought a membership to a "bikini bar" last week, and didn't bother to mention it to me. It's on the way home from his work.

We live together, and are (were?) planning to be married. Every day, he comes up with some reason or other not to come home right after work. I know he stops at bars, and that doesn't really bother me, but the fact that he BOUGHT A MEMBERSHIP to a bikini bar and didn't tell me, makes me uneasy.

He says I'm making a big deal out of nothing, but I wonder if I should let this go.

After school, I was looking at the sky because I heard a bunch of thunder, and I saw a red cloud coming out from behind a storm cloud. I looked away and looked back a few seconds later, but this time, it was orange. The next time I looked up, it was bright green, and the last time I saw it, it was blue/green.
A teacher said that it was a lightning cloud and that lightning struck straight from it. She made us get to shelter quickly.

I know what I saw, but I don't know what exactly it was. It changed color, but when I came home to look it up, I found nothing that matched what I saw.
Does ANYONE have a clue or a link that could help me out? Thanks!

My front yard has about a 3-4 foot slope from house to street. The old owners put in a couple of trees and planting beds, but nothing of real interest. I would like to add a partial retaining wall about halfway down to create some "flow" and interest. Problem is, there is a 10-year-old ornamental plum tree about where I want to put the wall. My preference would be to place the wall about 2 feet in front of the plum tree, but then I would need to backfill with soil (basically building up the soil around the tree by about a foot). Will that damage the tree?
