I dont understand how Pros think that the ILLEGALS are the same as people who have done everything ro get here LEGALLY. Even the immigrants of the past who came through Ellis Island were LEGAL. And our country was built by LEGAL immigrants, There is no comparison, what is so hard to understand about that?

The word bible itself comes from the latin word biblios which means collection of books. When king James found the books he merely compiled them and had those who spoke the language translate in to the version we have now. Whats wrong with the king james version.

I am becomming increasingly irritated by people who refuse to alter their pets. These are the same morons who generally post questions asking if their ***** is pregnant. What is the arguement against spaying/neutering, besides breeding? Why do some people refuse to alter their dogs? I simply do not understand this.

if i'm not mistaken, even the catholic church has come to grips with the fact of evolution and, as they have so skillfully done throughout history, now exploits it to promote the awesome creative powers of their god. the church is nothing if not practical and has had to swallow all sorts of distasteful notions served up by those brave souls willing to investigate not only the natural world itself, but their faith as well.
as the late great johnny cochran once said, "if it don't fit, you must acquit!" and no matter how hard you try, religion does not fit with reality...but evolution most certainly does.

So it would appear that livestock account for roughly 18% of anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions

Several groups have used this data to suggest that all environmentalists should become vegetarians. While this is certainly a good solution in theory, it strikes me that another possible solution would be to simply reduce beef consumption by increasing consumption of other meats such as pork and chicken.

These animals aren't ruminant, don't require large pastures, produce less waste, etc. etc. Granted there are other issues with raising these animals (mostly due to factory farming), but at least it would solve much of the greenhouse gas emission problem.

Does it strike anyone else that much of this problem could be solved by reducing beef consumption rather than the consumption of all meat?

I was just watching a movie called "What the Bleep do we Know?", and in it, they explain that the double slit produces an interference pattern, when they are performed normally. However, when we try to measure the position of the electrons, instead of an interference pattern, we just get two bands, corresponding to two slits. They further state that measurement by a conscious mind leads to this phenomenon.
Is this true? If yes, where can I know more about it? Is it the measurement that causes the interference pattern to change into two bands? Why is this so?

Immediately after the attack, I was afraid to fly. I took a train up to Maryland the following June, thinking it was safer. On the traintracks outside of Virginia there was a bomb threat, it scared me. I have done alot of flying since then however, the tightest security was at Reagan International in DC. Two weeks ago, 2 young men from Egypt were arrested for carrying bomb making materials in the trunk of their car. There were students from University of South FL going to NC and got pulled over here locally for a traffic violation. Do you think the government or the press lets us know about the total extent of the threat here in America?

Let's be honest Sachin has epitomised Indian cricket for the past 16yrs. He has won us so many matches single handedly and no one can ever doubt his patroitism. Most of the cricket fans, from all across the cricket playing nations, look at India as the land of Tendulkar. In today's match against England he struggled after 60 and once out, he couldn't climb the stairs back to the dressing room. He wants to quit ODIs Please have a look at this respectable site's article
http://content-uk.cricinfo.com/india/content/current/story/309706.html

Let's also keep in mind that he is a man with his own ideas and only him or people closest to him would be able to tell the toll this 2 decades of non-stop cricketing has taken on him, his personal and social life.

I would still consider him to be the best Indian Sportsperson till today
Do you like the scennario of Indian team without Sachin? He's admired all over the world. Would you agree with his decision?
Please reply in detail.
Thanks

As stated before, I will soon be vegan (I've taken steps of cutting things out of my diet 1 by 1 because I take this very seriously as a lifelong commitment). I've also made the choice to never purchase the skin or fur of animals again. (And I haven't for over 2 years.)

I've got these really comfortable sandals that I've had for 6 years. The tops are leather. I believe that throwing them away would be wasteful and disrespectful to the animal that died for them, and I believe that in my care they could last decades. So I'm thinking of ways to reconcile them with my moral imperative, since a vegan wearing leather is pretty hypocritcal.

What if I carve the words "never again" into the front straps (quite visibly) so that I can use them as a discussion piece for what motivated my change? Would this be self-righteous? What if I don't preach about them, and simply reply "what do you think?" to anyone who asks, and then ask if they would like to learn more?
