I vote because far too many people in this world can't.

It is my civic duty living in a democracy to vote. I have only missed a few small local elections but never have I missed a national or state level election. I have been voting since 1968.

One who does not vote should not complain. Since majority rules and we must compromise in a democracy your candidate won't always win or the ballot proposition won't necessarily go your way but the vote is tallied and if close we know there is no mandate. Keep voting eventually your guys will win something unless you are way off the mainstream.

I don't know. I live in a district hostile to my political positions, and my vote almost never counts for anything because it's strictly always going to be for that one side. Especially given Americans current policies.

I think I vote because of defiance. I feel obligated to support, even if it does little or nothing to help my cause. Personally I think I'd rather do more in other ways, and that my vote is less substantial than those other ways.

I think people worship the vote so much, that they fail to understand what are nation is.

Know thy self.

People who don't bother to vote have no right to complain when things are not to their liking. I always vote in the presidential elections and have begun to realize the importance of the other elections as well. Actually, they are every bit as important and I did vote in 2006 for change.

Vote since it is better than to just complain as many Americans do. As least I can say I decided even if what I support does not pass or get elected.

I vote because I like to have some say in my life. If you don't vote you should not complain about who is in office.

I vote because it is my responsibility as an American. I appreciate that we have the opportunity to do so, some people are not so lucky.

I choose to vote because of all the men who DIED to get me my right to vote, and all the women who were beaten and imprisoned and force-fed for supporting the suffrage movement to get me my right to vote.

Voting seems the least I can do, compared to all that.
