if i'm not mistaken, even the catholic church has come to grips with the fact of evolution and, as they have so skillfully done throughout history, now exploits it to promote the awesome creative powers of their god. the church is nothing if not practical and has had to swallow all sorts of distasteful notions served up by those brave souls willing to investigate not only the natural world itself, but their faith as well.
as the late great johnny cochran once said, "if it don't fit, you must acquit!" and no matter how hard you try, religion does not fit with reality...but evolution most certainly does.

space and time do not allow elaboration on this but, i feel it necessary to point out that the word theory as used to describe a process like evolution is not simply someone's opinion. it is the culmination of years of work in the field observing, experimentation that duplicates results, and most importantly, can make accurate predictions of future events based on the relative data collected from such studies. you people really need to get your heads out of your asses and take a good, long, hard look at your 'faith' and you will find that it does not bear up under the easiest scrutiny...you CANNOT say that about the field of science.

They realize it destroys their religion - they don't want to join in those who are stretching God even further to fit into the tiny hole science is making for Him

I have no problem with evolution within a species because that does exist, the impossible is for one species to change to another and you have no solid evidence of that. The reason is if macroevolution were true then the idea of man being created in the image of God is not true, if man were not created in the image of God then he has no soul but is an animal, if we have no soul then it does not matter what we do because we have nothing worth saving and so no need for morality because man is just an animal. Now if man were just an immoral animal why does he have to follow any conventions of proper behavior and just not do whatever he wants because there is no consequences. The idea of macroevolution attacks the very need for a creator a savior and morality because if man were just an evolved animal none of that would be needed. Plus, there is no proof whereas if you look at history the Bible has been proven repeatedly to be true.

Faith is believeing in something you cannot tangibly prove. I think there is a certain level of evolution, but God created all. And, in the Bible, it says 7 days, but that does not mean 7 24-hour days to God. He has His own time and could have devolped things in yom (which means "a given amount of time").
So, I have faith in God & His creation. Period.
Oh, and I don't fear the evolution thing. Come On! I fear God out of respect of His awesome power, and the free-will He gave to us. We need to be more frightened of what we do with our free-will rather than evolution; there are bigger things than that.

In my humble opinion what frightens these people the most is the fact that all their lives the people they vote for, the people they trust the most, everyone around them lies to them constantly about everything, so they don't want to embrace the fact that their churches, priests and religions have been lying and covering up controversy since their inception. But, again, that is just my opinion.

The Catholic Church become based via Jesus. people who say that the Catholic Church began in the time of the time of Constantine are incorrect. there is not any historic info pointing to this. via the time the Edict of Milan, allowing non secular tolerance (some revisionist erroneously say that this edict created the Catholic Church and made it the valid church of Rome) become proclaimed there had already been greater beneficial than 50 popes that reigned from the time of Peter. The Church become already stated because of the fact the Catholic Church as early as advert 107 in accordance to the writings of St. Ignatius of Antich. this is quite available that the term already utilized in the time of the 1st century. sure, the fundies and evangelicals have new heretical doctrines that weren't taught via the Apostles of Jesus. those fake doctrines are according to their incorrect interpretation of th Bible. And the unusual element is that a superb variety of those fundies say that they are the only actual Christians and that Catholics are actually not Christians.

My early training was in the sciences. Physical Anthropology fascinated me. I gained a tremendous respect for the discipline of acquiring data, and interpreting it.
As I studied Philosophy, I began to see that Evolutionists only wanted to interpret data ONE WAY, and that they ignored HUGE amounts of data which seems to undercut the pinnings of any gradualist scheme. I came to see that the theory was based on simply unprovable a prioris, and required every bit as much 'faith' as any other religion!
I do not have 'religious' problems with evolution. I have philosophical and scientific problems with it. I have a problem with scientists DELIBERATELY IGNORING AND EVEN DELIBERATELY HIDING AND EVADING SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCE, because their prejudices impel them to do so.
Even you; though you are probably a layman, refer to "...the fact of evolution..." whereas any genuine SCIENTIFIC analysis merely calls it a theory. You sir, have a RELIGIOUS FAITH IN EVOLUTION!

It bothers me that people could think that we evolved from monkeys and that there isn't at any point any documentation of the monkey/human living together experience. I don't ever remember reading back in 365 bc I was raised by monkey's .. it's like someone, somewhere would have experienced living together in the jungle with monkey's and growing up where their friend's baby joe (LOL) saw monkey's uncle and lived with him and his monkey family and some were already evolved and some weren't.

It does not frighten me, I choose to look at the evidence differently. We each come with preconceived notions. One with belief in God one without. You can look at the same piece of evidence and see it differently. It is like me sitting across from you holding up a magazine. I may be looking at the front cover and you may be looking at the back cover but we are still looking at the same magazine.

I am a fundamental Christian - I am not afraid of evolution. I don't get where you came up with that. I have chosen with every ounce of my being to believe God and trust in Him and Him alone - for my salvation and my peace in this world and the next, my afterlife. I have decided to trust Jesus Christ, His Son, for my existence. My choice - just like you have chosen not to believe. We shall see at the end of our lives - who has chosen wisely. I pray you find Truth - dear one - Truth is a Person - Jesus Christ - there is no other.

I have no fear of evolution; there's nothing to be afraid of. What is it about God that fightens you so? Oh yeah, well in this case, I can understand being frightened of eternal damnation and all. Well, not-believing doesn't make him not-real.
