What types of things do your 14 - 15 year olds do to get out into the world without you? Apart from homeschool theatre and homeschool history classes and getting together with friends at 'park day,' my son's counselor has been giving us the feedback that our son needs to get out of the house more and get involved in developing independence and his own life. (Interestingly, my mom has been saying this, too.)

Do your kids do internships, jobs, volunteer work? Do you drop them off in the city and let them tour on their own? Have they joined non-homeschool groups that cater to their interests?

The counselor wants our son to get on the subway in the morning, go in to the city, and see what he can find. This seems very strange indeed to me. I think there has to be some structure, some point (except outings for fun with friends) and so I'm not interested in dropping him off at the subway and saying , "See you in 8 hours." It doesn't seem appropriate for 14. What would be?

I have a 2 year old male Chocolate Lab that I want to start breeding. He's very smart, friendly and really is a beautiful dog. My question is, what can I expect when the two dogs are together. Do they really "get stuck"? Im a little embarrased to ask this(I'm 30 and should know I guess, but I don't) This is a serious question, so anyone with experience breeding dogs that could let me know what to expect would be greatly appreciated. I, like Butler County Sheriff Richard Jones, have no sympathy for illegal immigrants whatsoever, nor will I ever! I'm sick of always seeing the damned media siding with the pro illegal side! I've been looking to buy a new, very nice laptop that comes with XP instead of stupid Vista, and I *finally* found one. But its an Alienware, and I've heard that Alienware's are overpriced. So I'm wondering if this is a good one for the price.

It's got an Nvidia GeForce 9700 GS video card, 2gb of memory, 1.8 ghz processor (could choose a better one, but I want to keep down the price), Windows XP, and a 100gb hard drive at 7200 rpm. It'll cost me $1800. Is this good or bad?

I'm planning on using it for lots of college stuff and semi-serious gaming. Will a 1.8ghz processor be too slow if I'm gonna use it for this?

So I'm on day 4 of my cold from hell and it's preventing me from smoking or else I'll cough up my fifth lung. How the hell can you people live without nicotine? I've totally forgotten how boring life is without nicotine. So....how can you people do this?

I want to put movies on my psp. I have a few programs that can do it, but I'm looking for a program that can convert dvds or downloaded videos/movies to a small enough file size to fit at least about 3-5 dvd movies on a 1gig psp memory stick. The programs I have now will take a full dvd down to about 400-500megs which means I could only put about 2 movies on a 1gig memory stick.

My husband deleted our internet history one night ( I work nights) and the next day I wondered why he did. I asked him if he was looking at porn bc/ my step-dad used to delete his history d/t his porn addiction. So, he said he didn't delete it and that he wasn't looking at porn. Well, that was over a year ago. A couple of weeks ago I asked him if he ever looks at porn and he said yes. So then, I was intrigued bc/ to be honest with you, I thought that he didn't. So I further asked him when the last time he looked at porn was to which he replied (after thinking about it a while) a week and a half ago...I was like, """waaahhh??""" Am I naive or something to think that if he did ever look at porn it would be like once or twice a year. prior to receiving one, each client has signed an agreement specifying interest rate of 18% if not paid within 15 days. Statements also make this clear. Despite, this, the majority of my statements are not paid on time. Because I don't want to be a bank, I charge a high rate of interest. Clients don;t seem to care - they either ignore and pay the orig balance eventually, or sometimes just go ahead and pay with int. But hate having to chase them down and the interest can lead to disputes / hard feelings. Lately, instead of just throwing in stuff for free, I itemize it, list price, then indicate on bill it's free if statement is paid on time; if not, it's going to be on next statement. This is also made clear in plain English on statement - it too fails to motivate timely payment from most clients. Any recommendations? Maybe 15 days is too quick, but I fail to see how a 30 day deadline is going to make anyone pay any quicker!? The credit cards and others don't allow 30 days.

I have been diagnosed with hypothyroidism - I've been taking Synthroid religiously for a year. It has done nothing for me - I'm gaining weight, I'm still as tired, I walk every day and eat well 99% of the week. My MD has up'pd the dosage a few times already and says that my level is still too low.

I'm tired of feeling like crap - I want to lose weight - I'm 24 years old and weight nearly 169lbs - and I'm only 5'4 1/2". I've gained nearly 40lbs in the past 2 years - it's disgusting. I need to lose the weight - but I am having an awful time with it.

Is anyone else having issues with gaining weight on Synthroid? Or does anyone have a weight loss plan that has really worked for them when dealing with Hypothroidism?

I feel myself becoming more & more depressed with this - obviously the Synthroid meds aren't working for me. I still feel as terrible as I always have.

Anyone with any suggestions/advice/weight loss plans?

I would like to get a cellphone, an enV from Verizon if you want to be specific. I think it would be perfect if I did, because my mom has two networks.. one on Cingular that has my dad, her, my grandma, my grandpa, and my other grandma in it. Her other one is on Verizon and it only has her other phone on it that she uses for business. That is why I think it would be perfect, because then she would have more than just one phone on it. She was also considering getting a new phone. She wants one with bluetooth, because it is easier to talk and drive with a bluetooth (obviously). What do you suggest I tell her to convince her/inform her of positive aspects of getting me a phone.

ALSO.. I want unlimited texting because why would you get a texting phone if you couldn't text.. However, she wants to be able to have lots of minutes because she is going to talk alot since it is a business phone. Please just let me in on some useful information now that you understand my situation..

My neighbour's outside with a battery charger attached to his battery ( for the last 2 hours) cause he says it's dead. But the hood light is lit, and when he tried firing it up, all it did was make a clicking sound. I said maybe it's the starter, but he doesn't think so. What's the problem?

personally i think sometimes its better than dating in your own race.I'm multi racial and i mostly date khmers(cambodians)and caucasians and they have all been pleasent experiences.I try to date within my own race sometimes but they always do something to make me feel uncomfortable.

I have some experience with emulators and roms, but I really have trouble with MAME. Can somebody find a way to play "Zoo Keeper" on a decent MAME emulator. I can't get anything to work.
