I would like to get a cellphone, an enV from Verizon if you want to be specific. I think it would be perfect if I did, because my mom has two networks.. one on Cingular that has my dad, her, my grandma, my grandpa, and my other grandma in it. Her other one is on Verizon and it only has her other phone on it that she uses for business. That is why I think it would be perfect, because then she would have more than just one phone on it. She was also considering getting a new phone. She wants one with bluetooth, because it is easier to talk and drive with a bluetooth (obviously). What do you suggest I tell her to convince her/inform her of positive aspects of getting me a phone.

ALSO.. I want unlimited texting because why would you get a texting phone if you couldn't text.. However, she wants to be able to have lots of minutes because she is going to talk alot since it is a business phone. Please just let me in on some useful information now that you understand my situation..

Well, definitely get on the same network as your grandma, etc. because then you can probably call them without using up regular minutes.

You need a cellphone nowadays for safety reasons - you get stuck somewhere, something happens at school, you're running late for something, etc. You can always keep it with you for emergencies, etc. Everyone should have one in this day and age.

Also, text messages are good ways for you to be able to send quick messages even when you know that your mom can't answer the phone because she will be busy. You could update her about stuff like "Will be at ____'s house" - stuff like that that doesn't require you using phone minutes!

Alright so you mom wants Verizon and you want Cingular? Do I have that right? Well from what I hear you are just liek me a text addict! I would go with Veriszon, they have the most relaible network and they are offering some type of family plan with unlimited text, pic video... cool huh. yeah I heard its like real cheap. At&t (cingular) is more expensive specially right now since they just received the iPhone and other cool phones. But dont be distracted from the iPhone its not all it seems. there are ALOT of flaws to it. So if I was you I would go with Verizon and try to get the LG 9900 it comes in 2 colors, or that Samsun that turns in 2 ways. Check out there website. Happy textin! Hope this helps.

first of all with verizon if you have two phones on it you really don't sae much at all my son wanted on my plan and it wasn't worth it because then i would lose my minutes in the long run because the two people have to share the minutes and to up the minutes it just cost even more and don't get texting confused you ONLY have unlimited texting verizon to verizon there is no such thing as unlimited texting as far as it goes for texting anyone no matter what company they are with NO SUCH LUCK . For what you want you have to go for so many texts and i have 1,500. and actually it is better for you just get on your own plan because there is no savings. maybe the cost of the phone but thats it and as the months go on you wouldn't even save the price of the phone.

Your mom should cancel or wait out her verizon subscription and switch over to Cingular (AT&T).

Cingular is a way better brand. You don't get free txting, but c'mon. Who needs that crap anyway? Free mobile2moblile & nights/weekends minutes would definitely allow to all your family members and save your mom more money.

If u do wanna txt, then it is only 10cents 2 send or recieve (with my plan, but it may vary.)

Cell phones are a good way to keep in touch with love ones when they are not near land line phones. Also with the decrease of pay phones in areas it is really convenient to have. Advised her that you would not abuse the phone privilege, especially if you had unlimited text. Unlimited text would minimize the need to use the cellular portion
