my soon to be hubby is deploying soon, and we thought the ss act stated somewhere that precentage rates had to be dropped when a soilder deployed? We were told since he used the MILES program to purchase his car, that the ss act was invalid, and he may have to refinace with a local bank to lower his apr. Is this right, or how do we fix this?

I am unemployed currently. I have about $15,000 credit card debt and a $15,000 car loan. I have alot of credit and could live on that for a while, but it seems silly to be running up my credit card balance. I have never been on welfare. Do you think I should apply for it?

My mind is CONSTANTLY at work. I am in a good relationship with a man who adores me. I have two beautiful children and a really good job. Why am I still so restless?

Anyone else feel like this? What do you do to stop the wheels from constantly turning in your mind and just relax?

Last night her brothered called and asked her for her information SS#, Address, D.O.B etc. She asked why he needed that information and he said that to apply for the state trooper position he needed to list all his immediate families information and that they may do a background check on her. Well back when she was I think 18 she was arrested (NOT convicted) and ended up on probabation for about a year paid a fine and the case was dismissed she is now 27 years old but is concerned that her criminal history may affect her brother from getting the state trooper position. She didn't tell her brother of the offense because she didn't think it would come up. Should she tell him? Will this affect him getting the position? Will they ask her brother is he knew of the offense?

I remember that e-mail about Mars two years ago. And it doesn't seem possible that it's that close again.

And, anyone have eclipse pictures? I got up early to watch it but there's too many trees, etc. here... and couldn't drive anywhere... it was disappointing!!

But I'm really looking forward to the meteor shower on the 31st/1st! The meteors were from around 4 A.D.... wow!!

I grew Catholic, and never understood this . . . some of the vestments were kind of silly, but all the ceremonial (non-skull cap) hats worn by bishops, archbishops, cardinals (especially cardinals!) and the pope seem over-the-top silly, not to mention impractical. After all, they are rather easily knocked off by disrespectful hand-slapping, or a sudden gust of wind . . .

(no, I don't know the proper names for those silly hats . . . )

any Biblical justification, for those in the know?

I already have my degree, so I don't have to take the class. I just did it because he asked me to. He is paying for the course itself, but studying and going to school takes time which I'm not asking reimbursement for. Should I ask him to pay for my text book or atleast half? It cost $90 and I really can't afford that right now

Do you know more than they do?

Does reading a Michael Behe, Duane Gish or a Kent Hovind book make you an expert?

Do you realize that those people have NO respect in the scientific community because they are LIARS who INGNORE FACTS and misrepresent truths?

Does reading a book by a "journalist" (Lee Strobel) give you licence to write off evolution?

Shouldn't we let scientists do science? They don't come to your job and tell you what you're doing wrong. They don't know enough about what you do to criticize.

Serious answers only.

What exactly is the reason why my husband is reluctant to listen to reason, says he's always right and also perfect (generally) over the 14 yrs. Arguments happen, often in relation to my activities and they way I do things. e.g. I decide (after some discussion with him) to have some friends over for lunch while he plays tennis. He gets furious because I'm fussing over getting the house in order (reasonable order like vacuuming, sweeping the yard, preparing food and outdoor table. He never helps except for mowing the lawn and occasionally sweeping the leaves. He seems to resent any attention I give to others and I never feel free to enjoy the simple pleasure of entertaining in my style. He says thinks like "They are lucky to come here and if they are not happy with the way things are (ordinary, untidy and with only a little simple food etc.) then they can stay home!" He seems to really resent everyone I give attention to - even a particular TV show or personality and criticises.
