Gerry wants to inflate an exercise ball. The ball has a radius of 15 inches. If a pump can push cubic inches of air every second, how many seconds will it take to inflate the whole ball.

Volume of ball = (4/3) π r ³
V = (4/3) π (15) ³ in ³
V = 14137 in ³
Inflation rate is 5 in³ / sec
t = 14137 / 5 sec
t = 2827 sec (to nearest sec)

First you have to find the volume of the ball.
Volume of the ball
= 4/3 * Pi * (radius)^3 cubic inches [Here 4/3 means 4 divided by 3]
= 4/3 * 3.143 * (15)^3 cubic inches [considering Pi = 3.143]
= 4/3 * 3.143 * 3375 cubic inches
= 14143.5 cubic inches
Given that, the pump can push 5 cubic inches in 1 sec
So, the pump can push 1 cubic inches in 1/5 sec
And, the pump can push 14143.5 cubic inches in 14143.5/5 sec or 2828.7 sec
The answer is 2828.7 secs (Answer)

You need to find the volume of the ball first. The volume of a sphere is given as 4/3 * pi * r^3.
So, the volume of the ball with a diameter of 15 inches is:
V = 4/3 * 3.1415 * 15^3 = 14137.2 cubic inches
I think you're missing the value of cubic inches the pump can push out, but you can figure out the time required by dividing that volume by the number of cubic inches per second the pump can deliver:
t = V / pump rate = 14137.2 cubic inches / x cubic inches/second

find the volume of the ball by using the formula V=4/3*3.14*r*r*r where r =15 inches.
for 1 cubic inches, the pump requires 1 sec, therefore, for V cubic inches, the pump will require V seconds.

the volume of a sphere is 4/3 * Ï * r ^ 3 where r is the radius and 4/3 is four thirds.
the volume of the ball here is 4500Ï cubic inches.
if you can put 5 cubic inches of air in every second then it will take 900Ï = 2827.433 seconds or 47.12 minutes to inflate the ball.

Ok, well I'mg assuming that you can pump one cubic sqaure inch at a time because you left out the amount it can. Well first, you have to find the volume of the ball. For a circle, the formula for volume is:
4/3 * pi * radius^3.
Since you know the radius is 15 inches long, then you can plug that number in where it says radius and it now shows:
4/3 * pi * 15^3
Add in pi, which I'm assuming you're using the 3.14
4/3 * 3.14 * 15^3
Find out fifteen times fifteen times fifteen and simplify.
so it now says:
4/3 * 3.14 * 3,375
Now you multiply it all together:
It equals 14,129.999999...
So if there's that much, and you pump one cubic inch per second, that's how many seconds it will take. If it turns out that it pumps more than one cubic inch per second (You didn't specify in your description), then just divide 14,129.9999... by however many inches of air per second and there's your answer!

=(4/3)*pi*15^3=14130
when air occupies the entire volume of the ball ,it is inflated.
air occupy 5 cubic inches in one second.
time to occupy the one cubic inch=(1/5)sec
time to occupy the entire volume=(1/5)*14130
=2826 seconds
'/' means divide.here it means 4 divided by 3.

Are we to assume that the pump is pushing only 1 CI every second? That part of the question is vague... Try using the formula of V = 4 Ï r3 /3 to obtain your answer (volume of a sphere).

i have forgotten,equation for which find the the cubic of balls.
fix your 15 inch ther you will get cubic,thats much time go to inflate it.
