It's a form of knockout whist. Every man for himself. The man to the left of the dealer estimates how many tricks he will take by looking at his cards (anywhere from 0 to the maximum possible). then the next man does the same and so on. when the turn of the dealer comes he may bid anywhere from 0 to max but may not bid an amount such that the total amount of bids matches the total amount of tricks possible.
In the first round every player gets 10 cards or as many cards are available (leaving everyone with the same amount of cards (ie spare cards not played)). Then the players take turns to win tricks. Afterwards they score up. Each player scores 1 point for every trick they take plus 10 if they achieve the amount they bid for.
Next round 9 cards are dealt out and each progressive round the number reduces until in the final tenth round each player is dealt 1 card each. players score double bonus if bid and take all tricks.
