I think i got some fibreglass insulation in my eyes the other day at work. I was using a knife to scrape some of it back so i could get it round a pipe and some of the dust when into my eye. Is there any dangers from this? I believe it was thursday my eye was fine until today where it feels a bit itchy and irritated i get this feeling all the time but i'm just wondering if the fibreglass has anything to do with it.

Cheers

Theres no risk of my eye going septic or anything is there? I've been told the usual horror stories about guys getting stuff in there eyes and i'm a bit paranoid about it.

You will have to go to the doctors or ER so they can dye it and pick out the fiberglass. Ouch is all I can say, and good luck.

I had a piece of fibreglass in my eye one day as a teenager.
An optometrist put in some numbing drops and a yellow dye that fluoresced under UV light (that part was cool). With a very very sharp tweezers he was able to remove the fibre.
The cornea was scratched but he said it would heal and my eyesight went back to being just as bad as it ever had been.
Mine was very painful unlike yours.
You don't have to get it checked out but if in doubt it is your eyesight we are talking about here. A glass fibre could burrow into your eye. Losing the eye would be a possibility.

The real danger is that you may end up with a scratch on your cornea or possibly even worse, the fibreglass particle could embed itself into the eyeball and be lost forever....
If you wish to avoid endangering your sight as well as avoid surgery -- get to an Opthalmologist QUICK!
Whatever you do -- don't rub your eye!!!!
Wear safety glasses from now on (or I'll tell your mother!)

Its dangerous mate, thats why you are supposed to wear goggles and facemasks when using the stuff.
I would have several eyewashes using optrex or something and if it hasnt eased go to the doctors.

if it doesn't clear out and stop itching, see a doctor to get it removed. It will continue to cut.
