So yeah, i was with my friend who was in ACUs, and the metal detector guy made him take of his boots because the army is now making boots with switchblades in them, as in, when you stomp your foot really hard, a blade comes out the front.
Like in the movies.

The guy said that they are finding soldiers with them all the time now, mostly ppl going to iraq.

Im guessing so that you're always armed.

Either way, can someone enlighten me on where to get these? The guy said they buy them on the internet.

Or can someone just give me the name of them?

Or intructions on how to make my own?

thank you if you help

A motorist was driving down the highway and all of a sudden he hit a sparrow. He pulled over, picked the poor sparrow who was still alive, but unconscious. He decided to take him home.
When the motorist got home, he put the sparrow in a cage, leaving him some bread and water inside. When the sparrow came to, he looked around and said: "Bars, bread, water... Oh my God!! I have killed the motorist!!!"

Why can't the USA just fund social services enough to get rid of poverty, hungery children, poor housing, no health care, unemployment, economically driven crime, etc.?

It is pretty lame that such a rich place treats it's poor, disabled, and elderly like animals while simultaneously taking so much more than most people need, throwing away and wasting so much, spending so little on care.

Don't write back insults, use your brain and answer the question WHY? What is the REASON?

The only subject fewer authentic Americans care about than the treatment of prisoners at Guantanamo is World Cup Soccer. America is an epic global battle with ruthless savages who seek our destruction, and liberals are feeling sorry for the terrorists!

"so and so has to live on only $10 per month" ( in some unbelievably poor 3rd world country )
obviously that is impossible in usa.
so how exactly does $10 in a poor country translate into how much buying power it has??

isnt food and gas etc all relative to supply and demand, even when its in a really poor area? so therefore $10 could theroetically pay rent, buy food, toys etc..

could sum1 give simple explanation how this works?
Also, why does the news say stuff like this if it doesnt really make sense??

I'm thinking about such issues as abortion, prayer in schools, gay marriage, the euthanasia option for terminally ill people, medicinal marijuana, teaching about evolution, and so on.

What I believe about each of these topics...doesn't matter. I'm aiming for an underlying principle.

What I'm trying to ask is: how can we achieve majority rule with minority rights? When a majority of people share a particular belief, how can they know whether that belief impinges on the rights of a minority? Can the majority be trusted to consider minority rights before making a law?

For a little background, visit:
http://usinfo.state.gov/products/pubs/principles/majority.htm

I'm asking this in R&S because this is where I come to defend minority rights against dogmatic attack. I'm looking for a guiding principle that can fairly used by all people, regardless of religious affiliation.

Son, age 26 still lives at home. Has had only two jobs since graduation for only a short time each. Was fired from both for poor attendance. Makes excuses and blames everyone and everything for why he doesn't get out on his own. Has health problems but nothing serious. Has had a few bad breaks but nothing serious. We provide everything for him. He does very little around the house, has a negative attitude, and tries to lecture us and micro-manage everything we do. I've told him repeatedly it's time for him get a job and get his own place. He always has a comeback and tries to make me feel guilty. Threatens to disown us. We're willing to help, but he needs to help himself also. If I don't do something I'm afraid he will be with us until he's 87! This causes problems as his step-father resents totally providing for a grown man. My other son, not yet 18 is already working on advancing to adulthood and is making good progress. Need a way to do this without alienating him. Suggestions?
